Panthers Finalizing Deal With Teddy Bridgewater
5 years agoThe Carolina Panthers are finalizing a deal with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to be their starting quarterback on Tuesday, according to sources. Sources are saying that Bridgewater should get around $20 million per season. Cam Newton was given permission to seek a trade earlier in the day, and now we know why. Teddy B will pilot an offense in Carolina that runs through running back Christian McCaffrey. The 27-year-old was 5-0 in relief of Drew Brees last year with the Saints. He was mostly a game manager in that role, but Bridgewater could have some QB1 appeal in the right matchups. He's probably better off being drafted as a QB2, though. He had 1,384 passing yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions in nine games played in 2019.
