1 week agoAccording to Yahoo senior NFL reporter Charles Robinson, the Titans asking price for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is at least three first-round picks "or at least something of that value." Miami quarterback Cam Ward is the overwhelming favorite to be the top selection in April's draft, and the Titans have not signed any notable veteran quarterbacks. The current quarterback room in Tennessee features Will Levis, Brandon Allen, and Tim Boyle. All signs are pointing toward Ward ending up in Nashville, but general manager Mike Borgonzi is not completely closing the door on a potential trade out of the No. 1 selection. That said, it sounds like it would take a massive haul of picks or players for a QB-needy team like the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants to make the move up for Ward.Source: Jared Stillman - The Game Nashville
1 week agoFormer Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders will take part in private workouts for the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns following his April 4 Pro Day, according to Ian Rapoport. Both teams have held private workouts for Miami's quarterback Cam Ward and are doing extra work on the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, too. Tennessee is expected to pick Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they could be open to moving the pick if they receive a significant trade package. That said, both teams are still realistic landing spots for Sanders, who completed over 71% of his passes for 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions over his final two collegiate seasons.Source: Ian Rapoport
1 week agoThe New York Jets are signing free-agent wide receiver Josh Reynolds to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million on Thursday, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. New general manager Darren Mougey is familiar with Reynolds from their time together with the Denver Broncos last year. The 30-year-old veteran wideout also spent time in 2023 with the Detroit Lions and with the Jacksonville Jaguars to close out last season. With Denver and Jacksonville in 2024, Reynolds combined for only 13 receptions on 24 targets for 194 yards and one touchdown in nine games played (two starts). The former fourth-round pick (117th overall) by the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 out of Texas A&M will now head to New York, where he'll be battling for a complementary role behind Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Xavier Gipson. Barring injuries, Reynolds will be avoidable in 12-team fantasy leagues this fall.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
1 week agoNaming quarterback J.J. McCarthy (knee) as the Minnesota Vikings' starting quarterback is "the outcome we want" and "the outcome we're headed towards," general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said on Wednesday. However, the GM also refused to rule out the possibility of revisiting talks with free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers later this offseason if he's still available. McCarthy and Brett Rypien are the only QBs currently on the Vikings roster after both Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones left in free agency. McCarthy, the 10th overall pick in 2024, missed all of his rookie season due to a torn meniscus in his right knee suffered in the preseason. However, he's been cleared for offseason activities and is working to regain weight after losing more than 20 pounds. McCarthy said he hasn't been told he's the starter, but barring something unexpected, he should be under center for the Vikes in Week 1 this fall.Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert
1 week agoThe San Francisco 49ers announced on Wednesday that defensive lineman Sam Okuayinonu signed his one-year exclusive-rights tendered contract. Okuayinonu will return to the Bay Area for a second season after recording a career-best 35 tackles (25 solo), three sacks, six tackles for loss, seven QB hits and a forced fumble in 16 games (three starts). It was just the 26-year-old's second NFL campaign after the former undrafted free agent out of Maryland made his NFL debut in 2022 with the Tennessee Titans. Okuayinonu will continue to develop with the 49ers this offseason and will be looking for an increased role as a rotational defensive lineman in 2025. Fantasy managers can continue to ignore him in IDP formats.Source: San Francisco 49ers
1 week agoPenn State edge rusher and top defensive prospect Abdul Carter (foot, shoulder) will not work out at his school's Pro Day on Friday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. "He is still finishing up rehab on the shoulder injury he had from the Boise State game," Rosenhaus said. "He may still do a workout for teams sometime in mid-April." In addition to a shoulder injury, Carter is also recovering from a stress fracture in his right foot that he was diagnosed with at the scouting combine in February. Despite the injury issues, the 21-year-old defensive end is still the unquestioned top defensive prospect in this year's draft class and could go as high as first overall to the Tennessee Titans. ESPN's Adam Schefter said on Wednesday that the Cleveland Browns are leaning toward taking Carter at No. 2 overall in April's draft. A workout for NFL teams in mid-April would help erase any injury concerns Carter may have before this year's draft.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 week agoMiami Dolphins offensive guard James Daniels (Achilles), who tore his Achilles in Week 4 while playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, said he expects to be fully healthy for training camp this summer. "I'm going to be fully healthy when the season starts," Daniels said. Although it was early in the year, the 27-year-old former second-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2018 out of Iowa was in the midst of a career season before suffering his season-ending injury. Daniels looked great at right guard the last three years in Pittsburgh, but he also has experience on the left side and at center. Where Daniels plays in his first year in Miami in 2025 will likely depend on whether Terron Armstead decides to retire. Miami added Daniels on a three-year, $24 million deal earlier this month, and they hope he can shore up a rushing offense that finished 21st in 2024.Source: Miami Herald - C. Isaiah Smalls II
1 week agoSeattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider said that linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (knee) had offseason knee surgery before he agreed to take a pay cut to stay with the team in 2025. Nwosu suffered an MCL injury on a cut block from Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Wyatt Teller in the final preseason game last fall and spent two stints on Injured Reserve in 2024. The 28-year-old only played in six games (two starts) for Seattle in his third year with the team and had 14 tackles (eight solo) and one sack. He also appeared in just six games for the Seahawks in 2023 due to injury after posting a career-high 9.5 sacks in 17 starts in his first year with the team in 2022. Schneider said last week that Nwosu could be cutting it close to be ready for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season, and he could have to begin the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list.Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Gregg Bell
1 week agoThe Tennessee Titans announced on Wednesday that they signed free-agent quarterback Tim Boyle to an undisclosed deal. Boyle will provide depth in the QB room in Tennessee behind Will Levis and Brandon Allen. However, with the Titans fully expected to take a rookie signal-caller in this year's draft -- signs are pointing toward it being Cam Ward at No. 1 overall -- Boyle won't be a lock to stick around with Tennessee into the 2025 regular season. The 30-year-old veteran will be joining his seventh NFL team after already playing with the Packers, Lions, Bears, Jets, Dolphins and Giants. He spent last year with the Dolphins and Giants, going 27-for-50 for 276 yards, one touchdown and an interception in three games (no starts). Boyle has a 60.5 career completion percentage with five touchdown passes and 13 interceptions in 23 career games (five starts) over six seasons.Source: Tennessee Titans
1 week agoThe Tennessee Titans announced on Wednesday that they signed free-agent wide receiver James Proche II to an undisclosed deal. Proche will head to the AFC South after spending the last two seasons playing for the Cleveland Browns, where he had only three receptions on eight targets for 21 yards and no touchdowns in 19 games played (one start). The 28-year-old former sixth-round pick (201st overall) by the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 out of SMU has mostly specialized as a kick returner on special teams in his career, returning 68 punts for 591 yards and four kickoffs for 60 yards in his five NFL seasons. Expect Proche to compete for kick-return duties in Tennessee this summer in training camp. In 62 total games played, Proche has 28 receptions for 299 yards and no touchdowns on 48 targets on offense, so he won't suddenly become fantasy relevant in Tennessee.Source: Tennessee Titans
1 week agoESPN's Adam Schefter said on Wednesday that the Cleveland Browns are leaning toward selecting Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with the No. 2 overall pick in this April's NFL draft. The Tennessee Titans are saying they are still open to discussing trade offers for the No. 1 overall selection, but they've also become more and more enamored with Miami quarterback Cam Ward, leading to a belief that they will hang onto the top pick and take the signal-caller. Even though the 21-year-old Carter is recovering from a stress reaction in his right foot, the defensive end is still considered the clear top defensive prospect in this draft class and surely will not slip out of the top five. Cleveland currently has Kenny Pickett as the No. 1 QB on their depth chart, so a quarterback is a big need, but it could be hard to pass up adding Carter to their D-line opposite All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 week agoNew York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson said he expects to be the team's starting QB in 2025 after agreeing to a one-year deal worth $10.5 million guaranteed on Tuesday. Wilson joins veteran Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito in the G-Men's quarterback room, although they could still add a rookie signal-caller in April's draft. The 36-year-old underwhelmed in his two seasons in Denver in 2022 and 2023 and then completed 63.7% of his 336 pass attempts for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 regular-season starts for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. The 10-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl champion is clearly past his prime, but he'll have some decent weapons in New York, most notably second-year wideout Malik Nabers. However, given how he's looked the last three years, Wilson is unlikely to be much more than a midrange QB2 in fantasy in 2025, at best.Source: NFL Network - Mike Garofolo
1 week agoThe Tennessee Titans have claimed linebacker Curtis Jacobs off waivers, Jim Wyatt of the team reports. Jacobs was released by the New England Patriots late last week. Tennessee will effectively take on the remainder of his three-year $2.88 million deal. The Penn State product appeared in nine games last season (two starts) while also spending time on special teams (136 snaps). He registered four tackles. Jacobs played on just 2.06% of defensive snaps but nearly a third of the Patriots' special teams ones (31.12%). The second-year pro never notched more than 39 tackles during his time as a Nittany Lion and doesn't project to contribute much at all in fantasy.Source: Jim Wyatt
1 week agoThe New York Giants have re-signed offensive lineman Aaron Stinnie to an undisclosed contract. Stinnie played 16 games for the team last year (three starts), garnering a 17.16% snap share. He spent most of his time at left guard. The Virginia native projects to backup teammate Jon Runyan (ankle), who ended the season with an ankle injury that forced him from the final four contests. New York has attempted to reinforce its offensive line this offseason, as Stinnie joins returning veteran Greg Van Roten and newly acquired offensive linemen Stone Forsythe and James Hudson III. Van Roten is the only Giants lineman to log 100% of the team's snaps a season ago.Source: Dan Salomone
1 week agoPer the team, the Seattle Seahawks have re-signed linebacker Josh Ross to a one-year, $1.03 million deal. He appeared in 10 games last season for Seattle and earned his salt on special teams. The 25-year-old played 67% of the Seahawks' snaps there after his acquisition off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens. He registered four tackles. Ross is currently buried on the team's depth chart and figures to serve as a depth piece and special-teams contributor again in 2025. It's worth mentioning that the Michigan native continues his familiarity with head coach Mike Macdonald, who he has played under in college at Michigan and during his time in Baltimore.Source: John Boyle
