Still No Timetable for Najee Harris at Training Camp
Najee Harris (eye) is getting better and that Harris is walking laps around the field during training camp practices as part of his rehab process. However, there's still no timetable for his return, according to Kris Rhim of ESPN. Harris suffered a superficial eye injury in a fireworks accident on the Fourth of July and was placed on the Non-Football Injury list at the start of training camp in mid-July. While the former Steeler has been at the team's facilities and taking part in meetings, he has yet to get on the field heading into his first year with the team. The 27-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season in early September, but each day he misses practice is another day that rookie first-rounder Omarion Hampton becomes much more intriguing in fantasy as L.A.'s primary backfield weapon.

KeAndre Lambert-Smith Continues To Impress at Training Camp
Keandre Lambert-Smith continues to turn heads at training camp, following up his impressive preseason debut with another standout performance on Saturday. According to beat reporter Kris Rhim of ESPN, Lambert-Smith caught two deep touchdowns from quarterback Justin Herbert, with one being a 53-yard catch. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman praised the rookie, stating, "He took the practice field to the game." This consistent play follows his strong outing in the Hall of Fame Game, where he led the team with 43 receiving yards on two catches and a touchdown. While Lambert-Smith is currently not a factor in fantasy drafts, his strong camp and early preseason play are worth monitoring as he looks to climb the depth chart.

Najee Harris Working off to the Side on Saturday
Najee Harris (eye) worked off to the side during Saturday's practice. While he seemingly still has a way to go before potentially getting cleared for Week 1, his presence on Saturday was at least a positive step in the right direction. The 27-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Chargers in March after spending his first four years in the National Football League in Pittsburgh. He had more than a few productive outings with the Steelers, amassing 4,312 yards off 1,097 carries while totaling 34 touchdowns in 68 regular-season contests. Harris needs to get cleared as soon as possible. If he remains limited and is ruled out heading into the opener versus the Chiefs on September 5, Omarion Hampton will have a chance to lock up even more touches out of the backfield moving ahead.

Keenan Allen Visiting Chargers on Friday
Keenan Allen is visiting with the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, and there is "mutual interest in a potential reunion," according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The 33-year-old played last season with the Chicago Bears, but spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Chargers. Allen is not the same level of receiver he once was at his peak, but he's still a productive player. In 15 games with Chicago in 2024, he recorded 70 catches for 744 yards and seven touchdowns. The Chargers have Ladd McConkey in place as their WR1, but lack certainty behind him. Allen would step in as their starting slot receiver, and there would be no worries about him needing time to build chemistry with quarterback Justin Herbert. If he does end up signing with the Chargers, Allen would immediately become fantasy-relevant, particularly in PPR-scoring formats.

Keandre Lambert-Smith Leads Chargers' Receivers, Scores Touchdown
Keandre Lambert-Smith was the team's top pass-catcher in Thursday's 34-7 Hall of Fame Game victory against the Detroit Lions. The fifth-round pick out of Auburn led the team with 43 receiving yards on two catches and two targets, hauling in a beautiful 28-yard pass from quarterback Trey Lance and turning a crisp 15-yard slant into a touchdown just before halftime. Despite his impressive outing, Lambert-Smith is currently behind Harris in the wide receiver pecking order and is not considered fantasy relevant at this time. He will look to build on this performance in the Chargers' next preseason matchup against the Saints.

Tre Harris Quiet in Hall of Fame Game
Tre Harris had a quiet start to the preseason, with zero catches on just one target in Thursday's 34-7 win over the Detroit Lions. The big-bodied pass-catcher, who has been running with the starters throughout training camp, couldn't develop chemistry with third-string quarterback Trey Lance in his limited snaps. The 2025 second-round pick showed promise at Ole Miss last season, recording 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns in just eight games, and is poised to take on a larger role as a rookie, especially given the inconsistent play of former first-round pick Quentin Johnston. He's a late-round fantasy stash with potential upside as he gets more reps within the Chargers' system.

Omarion Hampton Gets the Start, Flashes Promise
Omarion Hampton started in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Detroit Lions, rushing twice for nine yards in the Chargers' 34-7 victory. Hampton showed his signature burst and tackle-breaking ability on his first carry, an eight-yard gain, but failed to cut upfield on his second, falling just short of a first down. While he was limited to only one drive, the 2025 first-round pick looks poised to take on a larger role in Greg Roman's ground-and-pound offense as Najee Harris (eye) is still dealing with an ambiguous eye injury. RotoBaller has Hampton projected for 1,210 yards and 10 TDs, with a current RB15 ranking that could rise depending on the severity and duration of Harris's injury.

Trey Lance Throws Two Touchdowns, Shows Poise in Preseason Debut
Trey Lance made a strong statement in the Hall of Fame Game, completing 13-of-20 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for eight yards on three carries in Thursday's 34-7 victory over the Lions. Lance, who only started one game with Dallas last season, showed poise and good technique throughout the night, capitalizing on multiple Detroit turnovers. His first touchdown came on the Chargers' first drive, a perfect five-yard pass to Will Dissly. The 25-year-old added his second score just before halftime with a 15-yard slant to Keandre Lambert-Smith. While the performance was encouraging, Lance faced a Lions' backup defense and is still listed third on the depth chart behind Justin Herbert and Taylor Heinicke. Fantasy managers should be cautious not to overreact to the performance until further preseason games are played, but a strong start nonetheless from the former first-round pick of the 2021 draft.

Justin Herbert Wants to Run More This Season?
Justin Herbert is studying Josh Allen's play style and is looking to create more plays this season. As per the Dan Patrick Show, Herbert mentioned, "What I respect about him [Josh Allen] is he's able to run power between the tackles. He's able to take the hits and deliver the hits." It sounds like Justin Herbert is aspiring to be a more physical runner after taking a career-high 69 rushing attempts last season. With a body similar to Allen's at 6-foot-6 and 236 lbs., this could be a realistic approach to increase his production. Herbert running more would only boost his fantasy value and comes in at QB17 in the latest RotoBaller draft rankings.

Trey Lance to Start for Chargers on Thursday
Trey Lance will start the preseason-opening Hall of Fame Game against the Detroit Lions on Thursday, head coach Jim Harbaugh announced. The plan is for Lance to play at least one half before undrafted rookie DJ Uiagalelei takes over. Starter Justin Herbert will sit out, and veteran Taylor Heinicke will serve as the Chargers' emergency third quarterback. Lance joined the Chargers in free agency after unsuccessful runs with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. Since entering the league as the third overall pick from North Dakota State in 2021, the 25-year-old has appeared in just 12 games and completed 56.6% of his passes with five touchdowns and four interceptions.

Still No Timetable for Najee Harris' Return
Najee Harris (eye) to return to practice. The Chargers will play their first preseason game on Thursday against the Detroit Lions in the Hall of Fame game, and Harris hasn't been on the practice field at all with his new team after injuring his eye during a fireworks accident back on the Fourth of July. The Chargers are optimistic that Harris will be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season in early September, but with him missing all this crucial practice time, the odds of rookie first-rounder Omarion Hampton seizing lead-back work increases each day Harris is absent. The former Steelers RB has been consistent so far in his NFL career, but he lacks big-play ability and could be working behind Hampton all year.

Omarion Hampton, Tre Harris to Play in Preseason Game on Thursday
Omarion Hampton and second-round wide receiver Tre Harris are both in line to play in Thursday's Hall of Fame preseason game against the Detroit Lions, reports Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Rookie receiver Keandre Lambert-Smith will also see action in his first official NFL game. Both Hampton and Harris could be key parts of L.A.'s offense in their first year in the NFL. For Hampton, his fantasy stock is especially rising during training camp with Najee Harris (eye) on the Non-Football Injury list with no timetable for a return. In a run-first offense, the 22-year-old from Ohio State could start the year as the primary backfield option for the Bolts, and if he plays well, it could remain that way all year. Harris, meanwhile could easily be quarterback Justin Herbert's primary deep threat in 2025 now that Mike Williams has retired.

Ladd McConkey Not Practicing Tuesday
Ladd McConkey (undisclosed) isn't practicing on Tuesday because of an undisclosed injury. Head coach Jim Harbaugh doesn't seem concerned, though, as he said McConkey is "working through something minor." A second-round pick out of Georgia last year, the 6-foot, 185-pound McConkey sparkled as a rookie with 82 catches on 112 targets, 1,149 yards, and seven touchdowns. McConkey is quarterback Justin Herbert's go-to guy and should be in line for another terrific season this year. RotoBaller has McConkey as the 10th-ranked receiver going into 2025.

Tre Harris Impressive on Monday
Tre Harris had one of his best showings of the summer during Monday's practice, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Quarterback Justin Herbert found Harris twice during 11-on-11 drills and connected on a touchdown. The Chargers are expecting big contributions from Harris after drafting him 55th overall out of Ole Miss this year. He may be in line to claim a starting job with the recent retirement of Mike Williams. While the Chargers have an established No. 1 receiver in Ladd McConkey, a second-round pick last year, Harris could surpass Quentin Johnston as Herbert's second-favorite target.
