1 day agoThe Las Vegas Raiders re-signed defensive end Malcolm Koonce (knee) on Monday to a one-year, $12 million deal, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Raiders selected Koonce in the third round (79th overall) in the 2021 draft out of Buffalo. He will return for a fifth season in Sin City despite suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 1 of last year against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. In his three seasons with the Raiders, the 26-year-old pass-rusher has accumulated 55 tackles (40 solo), 10 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 19 QB hits and three forced fumbles in 39 games (11 starts). Koonce had a career-high eight sacks in 2023, so the Raiders weren't quite ready to move on after his unfortunate knee injury in 2024. If Koonce is fully recovered from the knee injury that kept him out all of last year, he should start opposite All-Pro pass-rusher Maxx Crosby.

1 day agoThe Las Vegas Raiders agreed to terms with free-agent safety Jeremy Chinn on Monday on a two-year deal for over $16 million with over 75 percent of the deal fully guaranteed at signing, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Chinn will head to the AFC West after spending one year with the Washington Commanders in 2024, where he had a career-high 117 tackles (73 solo), a career-high two sacks, seven tackles for loss, an interception, five pass breakups, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 17 regular-season starts. The 27-year-old also had 29 tackles (17 solo) and an interception in three playoffs games in which he played all of the defensive snaps. It's a big pickup for the Raiders secondary, as Chinn has three 100-plus-tackle seasons in his five years in the NFL after the Carolina Panthers made him a second-round pick (64th overall) in 2020 out of Southern Illinois. Chinn will be back on the IDP radar in 2025.

1 day agoThe Arizona Cardinals re-signed offensive guard Evan Brown to a two-year deal worth $11.5 million on Monday, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Brown was a valuable part of the Cardinals' offensive line last year and started in all 17 regular-season games. The 28-year-old former undrafted free agent out of SMU has already played with six different teams in his six years in the NFL. He debuted in 2019 with the New York Giants but also played with the Miami Dolphins that same season. Brown has also bounced around with the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks before finding a home in the desert. He should be the starter at left guard again heading into the 2025 regular season. Bringing Brown back is good news for quarterback
Kyler Murray and the Cardinals' rushing attack.

1 day agoFree-agent linebacker Josh Sweat and the Arizona Cardinals reached an agreement on Monday on a four-year deal worth $76.4 million, including $41 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal was negotiated by agent Drew Rosenhaus. Sweat will head to the desert after seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. The former fourth-round pick (130th overall) in 2018 out of Florida State was a Pro Bowler in 2021 and had a career-high 11 sacks in 16 starts in 2022. In 2024, Sweat finished with 41 tackles (27 solo), eight sacks, nine tackles for loss, 15 QB hits and two pass breakups in 16 regular-season games (15 starts). The 27-year-old pass-rusher added 2.5 sacks in the Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs and has six-plus sacks in five straight seasons. It is a much-needed addition to a Cardinals pass rush that didn't put much heat on opposing quarterbacks in 2024.

1 day agoFree-agent defensive lineman Poona Ford and the Los Angeles Rams agreed to terms on a three-year deal on Monday worth just under $30 million with $17 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Ford had a career rebirth last year with the Los Angeles Chargers, collecting 39 tackles (24 solo), a career-high-tying three sacks, eight tackles for loss, nine QB hits, his first career interception and five pass breakups in 17 regular-season starts. The 29-year-old defensive tackle will stay in L.A. for at least another three years after playing on one-year pacts each of the last three campaigns. The former undrafted free agent out of Texas debuted in the NFL in 2018 with the Seattle Seahawks and spent his first five years in the league in Seattle. Despite a bounce-back season in 2024 with the Chargers, Ford should be avoided in IDP fantasy formats this fall with only 11.5 career sacks in seven seasons.

1 day agoThe New Orleans Saints are re-signing defensive end Chase Young to a three-year, $51 million deal on Monday, a source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Young will have a chance to earn as much as $57 million through incentives. It's a key move for a Saints defense that was pretty bad a year ago. The former second overall pick by the Washington Commanders in 2020 out of Ohio State has not lived up to his draft pedigree but showed some positive signs in 17 games (no starts) in New Orleans in 2024 when he had 31 tackles (21 solo), 5.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, a career-high 21 QB hits and a forced fumble. Young's sack total last year was just two off his previous career-high, which he set in his rookie year and again in 2023. He's still only 25 years old and could find himself in a bigger role if he continues to look good in 2025 and avoid injuries that set him back earlier in his career.

Najee Harris is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Harris, who had four straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons in Pittsburgh in his first four years in the NFL after being the 24th overall pick in 2021 out of Alabama, will now head to the AFC West.
J.K. Dobbins, the Chargers leading rusher last year, is an unrestricted free agent, so there's a very good chance Harris will be the Bolts' unquestioned lead back in 2025, depending on what the team does in the draft.
Hassan Haskins and
Kimani Vidal are the only other current RBs on the roster at the position. The 27-year-old lost valuable pass-catching work to
Jaylen Warren the last two years, so if the Chargers use him as more of a three-down back, his fantasy stock will rise with the move out West.

Joe Milton III, according to FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. This is something the Patriots have been considering for a while now, but it makes even more sense after they signed veteran QB Josh Dobbs to a two-year deal in free agency on Monday. Former first-rounder
Drake Maye is the unquestioned future of the franchise, but with Dobbs now in town, Milton would likely be the third-stringer if he were to stay in New England. Milton, a former sixth-rounder, was showcased in the regular-season finale last year in the win over the division-rival Buffalo Bills and looked good, going 22-for-29 for 241 yards and a touchdown while also adding a rushing touchdown on 10 carries. The Patriots are unlikely to get much in return for Milton, who has plenty of questions as a passer but is intriguing as a runner. They could wait to trade him until later this summer.

David Moore. The Cowboys are committed to selecting a running back in April's draft as well, and they will likely compete with Williams for backfield touches in 2025. This news comes after executive Stephen Jones said at the end of last month that Dallas was hoping to re-sign Dowdle, who had his first 1,000-yard rushing season and two touchdowns on 235 rushing attempts as the team's lead back in 2024. Meanwhile, Williams averaged a mediocre 3.7 yards per carry and had 513 rushing yards and four touchdowns in Denver while losing the starting gig midway through the season.

1 day agoThe Indianapolis Colts and right tackle Braden Smith (personal) agreed to a revised deal on Monday to keep him in town for the 2025 season, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Smith will become a free agent again in 2026. The 28-year-old offensive tackle was set to count $19.75 million against the salary cap in 2025 despite missing the final games of last year due to personal issues. "He's doing really well and he wants to play football. We'll work through the rest of it," general manager Chris Ballard said at the NFL Combine at the end of February. Since being selected in the second round of the 2018 draft out of Auburn, Smith has started 92 games at right tackle in Indy. Smith was also held back by injuries in 2023 and was only able to start 10 games, but as long as he's in the right frame of mind and healthy, he should return to being a starter at right tackle for the Colts in 2025.

1 day agoFormer Minnesota Vikings safety Camryn Bynum agreed to terms on a four-year, $60 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Bynum will head to the AFC South after he was originally drafted in the fourth round (125th overall) by the Vikings in 2021 out of California. The 26-year-old defensive back started all 17 regular-season games for the Vikings in each of the last three years and had 96 tackles (54 solo), a career-high three interceptions and a career-high 10 pass breakups in his fourth year in Minnesota in 2024. Bynum had a career-best 137 combined tackles (94 solo) in 2023, so he definitely can be useful in IDP fantasy leagues. He should be a starter in his new home with the Colts in 2025 and beyond across from Nick Cross, who is one of the best IDP safeties in football.

Ashton Dulin to a two-year, deal worth up to $8.5 million on Monday, according to a source. Dulin missed all of the 2023 campaign due to a torn ACL in his knee but returned in 2024 to play in 15 games (two starts) in his sixth year in Indy. The 27-year-old pass-catcher hauled in only two of eight targets in 15 games played for 67 yards and one touchdown. He has never really been a big factor on offense for the Colts since he debuted in the NFL in 2019. Dulin's best season was in 2022, when he had a 15-207-1 line on 22 targets over 12 games played (two starts). He won't suddenly become a big factor on offense in 2025 but should remain a key special-teams player for the Colts. Dulin has 35 career catches on 60 targets for 517 yards and four touchdowns in his 70 games (five starts).

1 day agoThe Indianapolis Colts have agreed on a deal with free-agent defensive back Charvarius Ward on Monday. They've agreed on a three-year, $60 million that includes $35 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus. This is a nice pickup for the Colts who have already improved their defense this offseason. Ward earned his way to the Pro Bowl in 2023 and has been a quality defender throughout his career. He has spent each of the last three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers after beginning his career with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. The Colts have added safety Cam Bynum as well, so hopefully this will be an improved defense in 2025.
