17 hours agoFree-agent quarterback Gardner Minshew II reached a two-year agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news. The amount of the deal has yet to be disclosed. Just one season after the Las Vegas Raiders inked Minshew to a two-year, $25 million contract, he'll join his fifth squad after being selected by Jacksonville in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. With the release of former Chief Carson Wentz, the 28-year-old Minshew will slot in as the backup to new starter Patrick Mahomes. The Washington State product never panned out consistently as a starter. Still, he's one of the better second-string options in the league and provides a skillset similar to Mahomes with his mobility. Kansas City has yet to make a groundbreaking acquisition in 2025, but they've picked up some essential depth pieces.Source: Adam Schefter

19 hours agoThe Houston Texans have made yet another trade involving an offensive lineman, acquiring offensive guard Ed Ingram from the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2026, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. Ingram, a second-rounder (59th overall) by Minnesota in 2022 out of LSU, will get a fresh start in Houston as they look to rebuild their offensive line in front of third-year quarterback C.J. Stroud. The 26-year-old was benched midway through his third season with the Vikings in 2024 and finished with 16 regular-season games played (nine starts). It's a trade that makes sense for both teams, as the Vikings signed both offensive linemen Ryan Kelly and Will Fries in free agency this week, while the Texans traded away left tackle Laremy Tunsil and guard Kenyon Green earlier this week.Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert
20 hours agoThe Los Angeles Chargers are signing defensive tackle Naquan Jones to a one-year contract, according to pro scouting director Mike McCartney. The Michigan State product spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, following three years with the Tennessee Titans. Overall, he has racked up 89 tackles (38 solo), 6.5 sacks, and four passes defended in 48 career games. The team also signed defensive tackle Da'Shawn Hand on Thursday, signaling they are prioritizing adding depth to its defensive line after allowing 4.7 yards per carry a season ago.Source: Mike McCartney
20 hours agoFree-agent defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand is signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The 29-year-old spent the first four seasons of his career with the Detroit Lions before a two-year stint with the Miami Dolphins. Overall, the Alabama product has compiled 102 tackles (65 solo), five sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, five pass deflections, and 11 run stuffs in 62 career games. The Chargers allowed the sixth-most yards per rushing attempt (4.7) last season, so Hand will be tasked with helping L.A. improve its run defense in 2025.Source: Mike Garafolo
20 hours agoThe Washington Commanders are re-signing veteran defensive tackle Sheldon Day, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The 30-year-old is back with Washington on a one-year deal after totaling 24 tackles (12 solo), one pass deflection, and 5.5 run stuffs in 12 games a season ago. Day was a 2016 fourth-round pick out of Notre Dame by the Jacksonville Jaguars and has appeared in 85 games for six organizations. He played a significant role for Washington when Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, who is now with the Minnesota Vikings, was forced to miss significant time last year due to a torn pectoral.Source: Mike Garafolo
20 hours agoThe Washington Commanders are re-signing veteran wide receiver K.J. Osborn, according to team reporter John Keim. The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers by Washington in November following his release by the New England Patriots and appeared in one game for the Commanders. The 2020 fifth-round pick out of Miami by the Minnesota Vikings has collected 165 receptions for 1,902 yards and 16 touchdowns in 66 career games. Washington also re-signed wideout Noah Brown and traded for Pro Bowler Deebo Samuel Sr. this offseason, so it's tough to expect Osborn to have any fantasy value in 2025.Source: John Keim
21 hours agoFormer Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders tight end Harrison Bryant is signing a one-year deal worth up to $2 million with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Bryant has appeared in 78 NFL contests (33 starts) and has collected 98 receptions for 877 yards and 10 touchdowns in five NFL seasons. Philadelphia is reportedly shopping veteran tight end Dallas Goedert this offseason, so Bryant and Grant Calcaterra could find themselves as the lead tight ends in Philadelphia, barring the team investing in an early pick at the position. However, it would be a surprise if Bryant was a significant fantasy football contributor in 2025.Source: Ian Rapoport
21 hours agoFree-agent quarterback Brandon Allen is signing a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. Allen was originally a sixth-round selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016 out of Arkansas and has spent time with five NFL organizations. Overall, the 32-year-old has completed just under 57% of his passing attempts for 1,810 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 18 career games (one start). He'll now join Will Levis in Tennessee's quarterback room, and the Titans seem to be signaling that they are leaning toward picking a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. It would not be a surprise if Levis is dealt for a late-round pick, and Tennessee selects Miami quarterback Cam Ward next month.Source: Mike Garafolo
21 hours agoVeteran quarterback Kenny Pickett was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Cleveland Browns this week in a deal that sent Dorian Thompson-Robinson to Philly. Pickett is now back in the AFC North after spending his first two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The former first-round pick said he views himself as a starter with his new organization. The 26-year-old has a 15-10 record as a starter behind 4,765 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions with the Steelers and Eagles. With Deshaun Watson (Achilles) unlikely to play in 2025, there's a real chance Pickett will compete for the starting job, but the Browns are likely to add more competition via free agency or the 2025 NFL Draft.Source: ESPN
22 hours agoFree-agent wide receiver Noah Brown (kidney) is re-signing with the Washington Commanders on Thursday on a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. Brown, who caught the Hail Mary touchdown pass in the wild win over the Chicago Bears during the 2024 regular season, caught 35 of his 56 targets for 453 yards and one touchdown in 11 regular-season games (nine starts) in his first year in D.C. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old suffered a kidney laceration late in the year and finished the season on Injured Reserve. He should be all healed up for the start of the 2025 season this fall, though, and will give the Commanders additional receiving depth behind top wideouts Terry McLaurin and newcomer Deebo Samuel Sr. While Brown did have a bigger role on offense right before his injury, he'll have a limited fantasy ceiling as the No. 3 as long as both McLaurin and Samuel stay healthy.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

22 hours agoThe Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that teams are willing to pay Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson what he desires on a new contract, but they have found the Bengals' current asking price for him in a trade to be "ridiculous," according to one general manager. As of right now, Cincy's asking price on the NFL's reigning sack leader is too high, but there is time for the Bengals to adjust as the offseason progresses. It's understandable that the Bengals are asking for a lot for Hendrickson, who has recorded 17.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons as one of the best pass-rushers in the league. But interested teams are not only going to have to give up a haul of draft picks but also pony up on a large contract that will likely make the 30-year-old one of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the league. Don't rule out the possibility of Cincy retaining Hendrickson.Source: The Athletic - Dianna Russini
22 hours agoThe New England Patriots are planning to release eight-time captain David Andrews (shoulder) on Thursday, sources tell ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss. Andrews is recovering from right-shoulder surgery. If he ends up retiring, the expectation is that the Patriots would host a ceremony to honor his contributions to the organization over the last decade. The 32-year-old veteran center was originally an undrafted free agent out of the University of Georgia, but he signed with the Patriots, made his debut in 2015 and won two Super Bowl rings with the team. Andrews' shoulder injury limited him to just four starts in 2024, but in his nine years in New England, he started in all but three of his 124 games played. If he's healthy, he'll likely attract interest on the open market, but it's unclear if Andrews has interest in continuing his NFL career outside of New England.Source: ESPN Boston - Mike Reiss
22 hours agoThe New Orleans Saints are signing free-agent cornerback Isaac Yiadom to a three-year deal worth $9 million with $4.86 million guaranteed on Thursday, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal carries a maximum value of $10.5 million through incentives. It's a return to the Big Easy for Yiadom, who finished the 2022 season with the Saints and also played all of the 2023 season in New Orleans. The 29-year-old defensive back had a career-high-tying 46 tackles (38 solo), an interception, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 17 games (five starts) in 2024 in his lone season with the San Francisco 49ers. While the former third-rounder (99th overall) by the Denver Broncos in 2018 out of Boston College isn't an asset in IDP fantasy leagues, he'll give a struggling Saints defense more depth in their secondary moving forward.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
