2 weeks agoCharlotte Hornets forward Cody Martin (knee) is available ahead of Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Martin will make his return to the court after missing each of the last two games due to a left knee contusion. The expectation is that Martin is going to have his normal workload on Friday. Possibly, Martin takes on a bigger role with Brandon Miller (ankle) still sidelined. Martin hasn't been a great fantasy option this season, but is worth a look as a streaming option with Miller out.Source: Hornets PR
2 weeks agoOrlando Magic guard Anthony Black (back) has been ruled out ahead of Friday's game against the Toronto Raptors. Black will miss his third game in a row due to a lower back contusion. The Magic are likely to continue using a committee approach to fill the void. Trevelin Queen, Gary Harris, and Caleb Houstan will likely all see increased roles on Friday. None of these players have ideal streaming option, but Harris might have the highest upside of the three.Source: Blake Murphy
2 weeks agoCharlotte Hornets guard Brandon Miller (ankle) remains out on Friday against the Pistons. He's had the best season of his young career, averaging 21.4 points, 5.1 boards, and 1.1 steals. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old has been sidelined of late, missing time because of an ankle injury. Hopefully, Miller can play on Sunday versus Cleveland. But as far as Friday night is concerned, Miles Bridges, Seth Curry, and Vasilije Micic should see most of the offensive opportunities, considering LaMelo Ball (ankle, wrist) will miss a third-straight contest.Source: Rod Boone
2 weeks agoCharlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball (ankle, wrist) remains out on Friday versus Detroit. Melo has been sidelined the last two games, most recently missing Monday's overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls. There was hope that extra time in between contests would allow Ball to get right. Unfortunately, that's not the case, so his next chance to suit up will be on Sunday in Cleveland. With Brandon Miller (ankle) also out, Miles Bridges is expected to lead the way offensively. However, there's room for Mark Williams, Seth Curry, and Vasilije Micic to get more involved than usual.Source: Rod Boone
2 weeks agoAccording to Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com, Phoenix Suns guard/forward Bradley Beal (hip) is questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Pacers due to a left hip contusion. Beal's injury occurred during Tuesday's 117-112 loss to the Grizzlies. He practiced Thursday, but was a limited participant. If the 31-year-old is unavailable, Monte Morris and Ryan Dunn will likely gain more minutes on the floor. Luckily for the Suns, Grayson Allen (shoulder) will also be back to help, as he's been removed from the injury report.Source: Kellan Olson
2 weeks agoBrooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (hamstring) is questionable for Saturday's meeting with the 76ers. The 23-year-old missed over a month because of a hamstring strain. However, he has appeared in two games since returning, most recently amassing 24 points, seven rebounds, and two steals on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks. With Cameron Thomas (ankle) doubtful, the Nets may need more production from Ben Simmons, Nicolas Claxton, Jalen Wilson, and D'Angelo Russell, who has averaged 16.5 points, 10.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in two games since returning to Brooklyn.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoBrooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (ankle) is officially listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the 76ers. Johnson has had the best year of his career, most recently scoring 26 points and going 6-for-12 from deep in Thursday's narrow win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Unfortunately, he tweaked his ankle near the end of the contest, putting his availability versus Philadelphia in doubt. With Cameron Thomas (hamstring) questionable, everyone in the Nets' starting lineup could be in line for more production, although D'Angelo Russell, Nicolas Claxton, and Jalen Wilson may benefit the most from a statistical standpoint.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoDallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (illness) is unavailable for Friday's matchup with his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Irving didn't appear on the Mavs initial injury report but has since been downgraded to out due to an illness. The 32-year-olds next chance to suit up comes on Monday versus the Grizzlies. With Luka Doncic (calf) also out, veteran Klay Thompson, Spencer Dinwiddie and Quentin Grimes will see extra minutes and plenty of scoring opportunities.Source: Chris Fedor
2 weeks agoAccording to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca, Toronto Raptors forward RJ Barrett (illness) won't play on Friday against the Orlando Magic. He's under the weather and will miss his third straight contest, so his next chance to suit up will be versus the Bucks on Monday. The 24-year-old is having an excellent season with 23.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in 34.1 minutes per contest. While Barrett is sidelined, Ochai Agbaji should continue to be in the starting five for the Raptors.Source: Blake Murphy
2 weeks agoChicago Bulls forward Torrey Craig (leg) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's matchup against the New York Knicks after missing practice Friday. If Craig cannot suit up, he will miss his second consecutive contest due to a lower right leg contusion. The 34-year-old has only reached the 20-minute mark twice this season, so he doesn't have a significant role in the Bulls' rotation. Matas Buzelis and Julian Phillips should fill Craig's minutes if unavailable.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoBrian Lewis of the New York Post reports that Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (ankle) injured his right ankle during the closing seconds of Thursday's 113-110 victory over the Bucks. According to Lewis, Johnson's injury occurred while battling for a rebound with teammate Ziaire Williams. Lewis also mentioned Johnson had X-rays and underwent imaging on the ankle, which came back negative. However, he left the arena on crutches, likely meaning he will be doubtful for Saturday's game against the 76ers. Keon Johnson could be in line for extra minutes if the 28-year-old is unavailable.Source: Brian Lewis
2 weeks agoMiami Heat forward Jimmy Butler has requested a trade and took to a post-game press conference to tell media members that he wants to get his joy back while playing basketball. ESPN's Shams Charania was the first one to report that Butler wanted out, but he cemented the report after his comments saying he probably couldn't get his joy back in Miami. He's in the final year of his contract and teams have been told that he will decline his option to become a free agent this summer. A report on Christmas Day said that his top destinations are the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and Dallas Mavericks.Source: Shams Charania
2 weeks agoPhiladelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (hand) is doubtful for Saturday's matchup with the Nets. Oubre will likely miss his third game in a row due to a sprained left hand. If he remains sidelined, Kyle Lowry could be in the Sixers starting lineup again. Eric Gordon will see an uptick in minutes as well. At the same time, Caleb Martin and Reggie Jackson could be relied upon more than usual, opening up extra scoring opportunities for both players.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoNew Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado (hamstring) is officially available against the Washington Wizards on Friday. The 26-year-old hasn't played since November 11 as he dealt with a hamstring strain while the rest of the team fell apart at the same time. Brandon Ingram (ankle) and Zion Williamson (hamstring) remain sidelined, so Alvarado will likely be needed to play a solid chunk of minutes off of the bench. He could take away some value from Jordan Hawkins in that case.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 weeks agoWashington Wizards forward Bilal Coulibaly (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans while he deals with a non-COVID illness. He could only play eight minutes in their game on Wednesday before exiting with the same illness he's dealing with now. Corey Kispert could move into the starting five if they still want Kyle Kuzma to come off of the bench. Kispert would be more likely to be available across more leagues while Justin Champagnie has been a solid streamer after dropping 15 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in their last game.Source: NBA Injury Report
