10 months agoArizona Cardinals kicker Matt Prater booted one 51-yard field goal and three extra points in the team's Week 13 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks ago. He looked good in that matchup and fresh off a Week 14 bye, should be well-rested and ready to go. However, the Cardinals take on a stiff test against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15. While the Arizona offense has been better since the return of quarterback Kyler Murray, the 49ers currently boast the best defense in the NFL, making it a real possibility that Arizona struggles to move the ball. While that could open up additional opportunities for Prater and his booming leg, it could also stifle the Cardinal offense so much that Prater sees fewer opportunities. As such, he remains too risky and nothing more than a waiver wire option for Week 15.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals will face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15. Fresh off their Week 14 bye, the Cardinals have a brutal matchup. While it is possible that the bye allowed their defense to become well-rested, they are set to face off against Brock Purdy and the 49er offense, one of the best in the league. Purdy is also one of the best at the deep pass and leads the NFL by a wide margin in YPA with 9.9. Comparatively, the Cardinals are allowing the second-most EPA/pass and the eighth-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. This doesn't include figuring out a way to stop the other San Francisco offensive weapons, including running back Christian McCaffrey. As a unit ranked 30th overall, the Arizona defense is best avoided in Week 15.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride has been balling over the past few weeks, and to say he's been good would be an understatement. Since Week 8, McBride has been the TE3 in fantasy points per game while ranking first in target share among tight ends. He's emerging as an elite option for the position and should be considered a must-start at this point. As good as McBride has been, in Week 15 he faces a stiff test against the San Francisco 49ers. The San Francisco defense has been tough on tight ends all season, allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game. While the matchup is a brutal one, the Arizona offense figures to be behind most of the game, opening the door for McBride to continue posting a solid stat line. He remains a TE1 in Week 15.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wideout Rondale Moore faces off against the top defense in the league in the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15 and may find it tough sledding. In Week 13, Moore was held to just one catch for six yards, and even though teammates Marquise Brown (heel) and Michael Wilson (neck) are listed as questionable for this game, there is the possibility at least one of them will play. Additionally, so far this season, Moore has racked up 9.0 yards per reception, which ranks 102nd in the NFL. He's also compiled 260 receiving yards and one TD through the air. Each ranks 131st in the league. Those are ugly numbers. Combine that with the brutal matchup, and Moore is best left on fantasy benches.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch and the rest of the Arizona offense will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15 fresh off their bye. The 49ers are currently ranked 16th against the pass and may have up to seven players out on the defensive side of the ball. Despite this, there is a possibility at least one of the teammates Marquise Brown (heel) or Michael Wilson (neck) may play, and if so, present as a better fantasy option than Dortch. Even though Dortch has somewhat reemerged over the past few weeks, much of that has been due to an increase in play time due to the injury to Wilson. There is also the possibility the Cardinal offense may lean more heavily on tight end Trey McBride in the passing attack due to the tough matchup, making Dortch at best a WR4/5 gamble. Fantasy Managers can most likely find better starting options for Week 15.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals running back Michael Carter made his team debut in Week 12 against the L.A. Rams less than two weeks after joining his new team. He appeared to be the No. 2 RB in the backfield behind incumbent James Conner and finished with just two fewer carries. In Week 15, Carter and the rest of the Arizona offense will face off against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers currently boast the league's best rush defense and also rank as the best defensive unit overall. While Carter could be somewhat utilized in the passing game due to his receiving skills, he's expected to be the usual primary backup to Conner and thus may receive limited work. Additionally, even though the possibility exists that the Cardinals could fall behind in the game and give their regulars some rest, Carter remains much too risky to start for fantasy purposes and currently only has value as an injury handcuff. As such, Carter should remain on the fantasy bench in Week 15.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner has only once finished higher than RB27 in weekly scoring since his return in Week 10. While Conner himself has played relatively well, the issue has been both volume and pass-game involvement, as the Cardinals have attempted to use more of their other offensive weapons with quarterback Kyler Murray under center. Additionally, in Week 15 Conner has the misfortune of going up against the top-rated rush defense in the league with the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher and has yet to allow two scores to an opposing back in a game this season. They've also allowed the second-fewest rushing yards on a per-game basis. That does not bode well for Conner's success. The brutal matchup combined with his decreasing passing game usage makes Conner no more than a Week 15 RB3.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray had a solid showing in the team's Week 13 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers and should be ready to go fresh off the team's Week 14 bye. The matchup, however, isn't a great one, as the Cardinals will take on the San Francisco 49ers, who currently boast the league's top defense. Despite the tough matchup, the possibility exists that the 49ers could be missing up to seven of their defensive players, thereby opening a slight window for Murray. While he isn't a must-sit, Murray has yet to throw multiple touchdown passes in a game and San Francisco has allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to the position over the last five weeks. Even though Murray's rushing ability gives him a better floor than most, the brutal matchup makes Kyler no better than a low-end QB2.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson (shoulder) is considered questionable for the Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Wilson has been dealing with a nagging shoulder issue for over a month. He has been limited through practice all week, which gets him a questionable tag for the weekend. If active, Wilson is nothing more than a WR4 against a tough 49ers defense. It doesn't sound like he's 100 percent healthy yet, so fantasy managers probably shouldn't take the gamble.Source: azcardinals.com
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) is currently listed as questionable for the upcoming Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Brown sat out practice to open the week, but was able to get in two limited sessions after that. It sounds like he's trending in the right direction, but doesn't appear to be fully healthy yet. His fantasy value has taken a hit since Kyler Murray returned under center. Fantasy managers should consider Brown a low-end WR3, assuming he suits up this weekend.Source: Darren Urban
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson (neck) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice. This is now back-to-back days that Wilson has been able to get through a limited session. That fact Wilson is even limited is good news after he missed each of the last three games. Fellow wideout Marquise Brown (heel) is currently considered as questionable for Week 15 after getting in a limited practice session on Thursday. The absence of Brown would probably mean a bigger role for Wilson, assuming he plays. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Friday for another update.Source: azcardinals.com
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) was back at practice on Thursday after being a non-participant in Wednesday's session coming off the team's bye in Week 14. Brown was dealing with a heel injury the two previous weeks before the bye but was able to play, although he left the Week 13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers early and didn't catch a single pass on only three targets. The 26-year-old should have a good chance to suit up in Week 15 against the division-rival San Francisco 49ers, although he may not be 100 percent in a tough matchup. Brown hasn't exactly been great for fantasy managers since quarterback Kyler Murray returned in Week 10, either, so he'll be on the WR3/4 borderline against San Fran despite catching seven passes (10 targets) for a season-high 96 yards in the first meeting against the Niners back in Week 4. UPDATE: Brown was limited on Thursday.Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban
10 months agoArizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado (neck) was limited in Wednesday's team practice. Demercado left the Cardinals' Week 13 game with a neck issue and a potential concussion before their Week 14 bye. But it appears Demercado passed the concussion protocol and is just dealing with a neck injury. His limited practice to start the week is a good sign for his availability in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers. However, with James Conner healthy and Michael Carter getting more reps, Demercado doesn't carry much fantasy value this weekend.Source: ESPN
10 months agoArizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (thumb) practiced fully on Wednesday ahead of his team's Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Murray's thumb issue is a new one, although it is a positive sign that it did not prevent him from taking part in practice on Wednesday. That being said, his status will be worth monitoring throughout the remainder of the week as the Cardinals gear up to face the 49ers. Rookie signal-caller Clayton Tune is the team's backup and would presumably get the start if Murray can't play, although that doesn't seem to be a concern at this point in the week.Source: AZCardinals.com
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson (neck) got in a limited practice session on Wednesday. Wilson has missed the past three games with a shoulder injury, so his neck ailment on the injury report is a new issue. That being said, Wilson's ability to get back on the practice field, even in a limited capacity, is a good sign heading into a Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. With Marquise Brown (heel) missing Wednesday's practice, Wilson could be in line for a larger role this weekend if he ultimately ends up playing. Stay tuned to practice reports on Thursday and Friday.Source: AZCardinals.com
