10 months agoIn the Cardinals' 27-16 loss to the Bears, Arizona tight end Trey McBride continued to be a reliable target, securing 6-of-8 targets for 31 yards. McBride has been a consistent force since quarterback Kyler Murray's return in Week 10, amassing an impressive 38-425-1 stat line on 45 targets over the past five contests. Although he fell short of 40 receiving yards for only the third time in nine outings, McBride remains a vital part of Arizona's passing game, serving as a safety blanket for Murray. Looking forward to the Week 17 matchup against the Eagles, McBride's steady performance and reliable target share position him as a reliable TE1, especially against an Eagles defense that has shown vulnerability to opposing tight ends. Fantasy managers can continue to trust McBride as a valuable asset heading into fantasy championship week.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoIn the Cardinals' 27-16 loss to the Bears, Greg Dortch showcased his playmaking abilities, securing 2-of-5 targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. The highlight was a quick pass that turned into a dazzling 38-yard score in the fourth quarter, displaying Dortch's agility and elusiveness. Despite the loss, Dortch's performance solidifies his presence in the WR4 conversation. Looking ahead to Week 17 against Philadelphia, Dortch's ability to make explosive plays positions him as a potential fantasy option, especially if he continues to capitalize on opportunities and remains involved in the Cardinals' passing attack. Fantasy managers should monitor his potential impact in what could be a favorable matchup, especially if teammate Marquise Brown (heel) remains sidelined.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoIn the Cardinals' 27-16 loss to the Bears, Arizona Running back James Conner displayed versatility, compiling 12 carries for 45 yards on the ground and making an impact in the passing game with five catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. Although this marked his first game of the year with less than 4.0 yards per carry, Conner's dynamic receiving performance more than compensated. His five targets included a 16-yard catch-and-run touchdown, helping to contribute to his game-high of 20 yards. Despite a quieter day on the rushing end, Conner achieved 100-plus yards from scrimmage for the fourth time this season. Looking ahead to Week 17 in Philadelphia, Conner will aim to maintain his solid momentum and remain an RB2 play.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoIn the Cardinals' 27-16 loss to the Bears, Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray showcased his dual-threat prowess, going 23-for-37 with 208 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He orchestrated a nine-play, 75-yard drive culminating in a touchdown pass to James Conner late in the second quarter. Notably, eight of the Cardinals' initial nine drives struggled to surpass 30 yards, while Murray's 32 yards on five carries mirrored his weekly rushing average. Operating without top receiver Marquise Brown (heel), Murray faced challenges, yet his two touchdown passes marked a season-high. Looking ahead to Week 17 against the Eagles, Murray's performance may improve with the potential return of Brown, adding an optimistic outlook for fantasy managers. As such, Kyler remains a QB2 for Week 17.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoIn Week 15, Matt Prater delivered a standout performance, connecting on 3-of-3 field goal attempts (58, 43, 28) and 2-of-2 extra point attempts against the 49ers. This marked a significant uptick in Prater's production, with five total kicks, including three field goals, after seeing limited opportunities in his previous three games. Despite the improved offensive outlook for the Cardinals, Prater remains a risky fantasy kicker, ranking outside the top 25 at his position in scoring with 85 total points. However, his ability to convert kicks from 50-plus yards, including a 62-yarder earlier in the season, adds an element of upside. Fantasy managers considering Prater for Week 16 should weigh the potential for long-range kicks against the overall scoring limitations.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoAfter the Week 15 shellacking at the hands of divisional foe San Francisco, the Arizona Cardinals travel to Chicago to take on the Bears in Week 16. The Cardinals have allowed 26.0 points per game (31st) while posting just 32 sacks (23rd) and 15 takeaways (24th). In turn, their ceiling is low in most matchups. However, they're set up well against the Bears, who have given up 24 turnovers (25th) this year while QB Justin Fields has been sacked on a whopping 10.6 percent of dropbacks. Facing an offense prone to turnovers and a quarterback under constant pressure, the Cardinals' defense could find opportunities to capitalize. While their overall season performance raises concerns, this Week 16 matchup presents a favorable scenario for fantasy managers.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride has been the TE1 in fantasy since Week 8, boasting a 28.3% target share, a 24.5% air-yard share, 2.54 YPRR, and a 34% first-read share. Additionally, he ranks 12th in red zone targets among tight ends, establishing himself as an elite option. In Week 15, McBride further solidified his status, hauling in 10 of 11 targets for 102 yards, finishing as the Cardinals' leading receiver. Despite briefly exiting the game with a shoulder injury, McBride overcame it and posted his second-highest receiving total in 2023. With a recent line of 38/425/2 over the last five games, McBride remains a premium fantasy option. He should continue his strong performance against a Bears' defense that has struggled against tight ends, making him a must-start in Week 16.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoIn the Arizona Cardinals' Week 15 loss to the 49ers, wide receiver Rondale Moore caught 2-of-3 targets for a mere five yards and had one rushing attempt for three yards. Despite Arizona's receiving corps getting reinforcements post-bye week, Moore's role remained consistent. He was one of six Arizona players to see three targets, but his overall involvement was limited. Moore continues to be a big play-dependent WR4 from a fantasy perspective. The upcoming matchup against the Bears suggests that Moore may struggle to generate significant fantasy value on so few touches. Considering his limited recent production and potential challenges against Chicago, at this point fantasy managers can't consider Rondale anything better than a bench stash.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals rookie wideout Michael Wilson faced challenges in his Week 15 return from a neck injury, failing to record a reception in the Cardinals' loss to the 49ers. However, for Week 16 against Chicago, Wilson's outlook gains intrigue. With starter Marquise Brown likely sidelined due to a recurring heel injury, Wilson is poised to assume an increased role in the Cardinals' offense, potentially making him a fantasy option in this matchup. Wilson, though relatively quiet recently, has the opportunity to make a significant impact given the circumstances. Fantasy managers in need of a potential sleeper should consider Wilson for Week 16, anticipating an expanded role in the absence of Brown.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinal's running back Emari Demercado made a notable impact in Week 15, rushing four times for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' loss to the 49ers. His highlight moment came with a powerful 49-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, showcasing his explosive potential. Despite a quieter performance on his other touches, amassing 21 total yards, Demercado demonstrated his ability to make significant plays. As the primary backup behind James Conner, he shared snaps with Michael Carter but maintained relevance in the Cardinals' rushing attack. With the team accumulating 234 rushing yards against a formidable 49ers defense and teammate James Conner's propensity to injury, Demercado's role could grow in the final three contests of the season. However, as long as Conner is healthy Demercado remains off the fantasy radar.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner showcased his prowess in Week 15, rushing 14 times for 86 yards and a touchdown, coupled with three receptions for three yards in a loss to the 49ers. This follows his stellar performance against his former team, solidifying his status as a hot commodity heading into Week 16 against the Bears. Since his return from injury, Conner has maintained RB24 status, averaging 16.8 touches and 72.4 total yards per game. Despite ranking high in explosive run rate, missed tackles forced per attempt, and yards after contact per attempt this season, he faces a stout Bears defense. Chicago, since Week 10, has allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards, posing a formidable challenge for Conner. Fantasy managers should weigh his recent momentum against the Bears' defensive prowess in their decision-making, but he is currently tough to trust as anything more than an RB2/3.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray's Week 15 performance presented a mixed bag as he completed 26 of 39 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, adding 49 rushing yards. Despite a brief absence due to a midsection hit, Murray's return was swift, with his surgically repaired knee unaffected. He struggled as a passer and his rushing prowess couldn't help salvage his fantasy output. In Week 16, facing a Bears' defense that has stifled opposing quarterbacks, Murray enters a challenging matchup. The Bears, ranking seventh in fewest yards per attempt, passing touchdowns, and CPOE allowed since Week 10, pose a formidable obstacle. Fantasy managers must weigh Murray's dual-threat ability against the Bears' defensive prowess when considering starting him in this critical Week 16 matchup. As such, he remains on the low end of the QB2 spectrum.Source: ESPN.COM
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (shoulder) is officially questionable to play against the Chicago Bears in Week 16. Although he missed back-to-back practices earlier this week, it appears he at least has a chance to suit up on Sunday. Having Dortch available would be key for the Cardinals, who have already ruled out Marquise Brown (heel). If active, Dortch would be joined by Rondale Moore and Michael Wilson as Arizona's top healthy wide receivers. Breakout tight end Trey McBride will also have a huge role versus Chicago.Source: Arizona Cardinals
10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) has been ruled out for Week 16 versus the Chicago Bears, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced. The injury limited Brown to just 32 percent of the Cardinals' offensive snaps last weekend, and he also missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. It's been a frustrating year for the 26-year-old who has just 51 catches, 574 yards, and four touchdowns through parts of 14 games. Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, and Michael Wilson will all see increased opportunities with Brown sidelined this weekend, as will breakout tight end Trey McBride.Source: Tyler Drake
