3 months agoQuang Le suffered a decision loss to Chris Gutierrez on the main card of UFC Vegas 95 on Saturday. Le stepped up on just days' notice and was a massive underdog. Le took Gutierrez down twice in the first round by was badly outstruck. He had success in the second round by controlling Gutierrez for over three minutes. But, he appeared to gas out as he was outstruck 32-to-6 in the final round to lose a decision. Gutierrez is now 8-1 as a pro and 0-1 in the UFC.Source: UFC
3 months agoChris Gutierrez returned to the win column with a decision win over UFC newcomer Quang Le on the main card of UFC Vegas 95. Le stepped up on short notice to take the fight, and in the first round, Gutierrez was taken down twice. However, he did outland Le 25-to-7. In the second round, Gutierrez was controlled for over three minutes to have the fight tied going into the final round. In the third round, Gutierrez took over on the feet and outstruck Le 32-to-6 to win a clear-cut decision. With the win, Gutierrez is now 21-5-2 as a pro and is 9-3-1 in the UFC.Source: UFC
3 months agoDamon Jackson suffered a decision loss to Chepe Mariscal in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 95 on Saturday. Jackson entered the fight as the underdog and took the bout even though Mariscal missed weight. However, Jackson struggled with wrestling as he was taken down five times and controlled for over eight minutes. Jackson ended up losing a clear-cut decision. With the loss, Jackson is now 23-7-1, 1 NC as a pro and 6-5-1, 1 NC in the UFC and is now 1-3 in his last four fights.Source: UFC
3 months agoChepe Mariscal picked up a decision win over Damon Jackson in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 97 on Saturday. Mariscal missed weight for the bout, but the fight still happened in a bout that Mariscal was the favorite in. Mariscal used his grappling to control the fight as he went 5-of-7 for takedowns and had over 8 minutes of control time. He ended up outlanding Jackson 218-to-49 to cruise to a decision win. Gutierrez is coming off a decision loss to Song Yadong in his first UFC main event. Gutierrez is a massive favorite in this fight and in the UFC, he's 8-3-1 with three wins by stoppage while he's been finished just once. 4 months agoUndefeated bantamweight contender Umar Nurmagomedov extended his win streak to 18 with a unanimous decision win over Cory Sandhagen in the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi. Even though Nurmagomedov wasn't able to dominate as he did in his previous fights, he produced an excellent performance to overcome Sandhagen. In 25 minutes of action, Nurmagomedov landed five takedowns and 98 significant strikes. Nurmagomedov will likely overtake Sandhagen's spot in the rankings and earn a shot at the winner of the upcoming title fight between Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili.Source: UFC
