7 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals selected Missouri defensive end Darius Robinson with the 27th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night. Robinson was a late bloomer for the Tigers in college and sometimes disappeared from games, but in the end, the pass-rusher was a first-team All-SEC performer as a fifth-year senior in 2023 after recording 8.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 2023. Robinson weighed in at 285 pounds and has long arms and plenty of power to push his way to opposing quarterbacks. He's also serviceable in the run game and will compete for plenty of playing time right away in the desert in 2024 next to Zaven Collins and BJ Ojulari. Robinson is powerful but is going to need to develop his repertoire to have success in the NFL.Source: NFL.com
7 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals selected Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night. With no other team trading up with the Cardinals to make it four straight quarterbacks in a row to start this year's draft, the Cardinals will give QB Kyler Murray a big-time new receiving weapon in Harrison. It makes sense after the team lost Marquise Brown this offseason. Harrison is an absolute stud at the position and should immediately be Arizona's best wideout in his rookie year alongside names like Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch and Chris Moore. Harrison was a unanimous two-time All-American and scored 28 total touchdowns the last two years. He's bigger than his father and has incredible body control. Harrison should be fantasy relevant in Year 1 while being peppered with targets by Murray.Source: NFL.com
8 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals are hosting former Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy on a visit on Tuesday. The speedster notably broke the NFL Combine record for the fastest 40-yard-dash (4.21) in February, making him a potential riser ahead of this month's NFL Draft. Arizona holds the No. 4 and No. 27 (via Houston) overall picks, and Worthy could be a potential target with their later selection. The 20-year-old posted 197 receptions for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns during his three seasons in college, including 981 yards and 12 scores as a true freshman. His slight frame (165 pounds) could be a concern for some NFL teams, but DeVonta Smith and Tank Dell have excelled in recent seasons, and he remains in the thick of the first-round discussion.Source: Ian Rapoport

8 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals hosted Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. on a top-30 visit on Friday, according to a source. The Cardinals hold the fourth overall pick in this year's NFL draft, and Harrison is widely considered to be at the top of the receiver class in 2024. Arizona is a prime candidate to trade down early in the first round for the second year in a row, but if they stand pat, adding the top receiver in this year's class would be tempting to give quarterback Kyler Murray a top target moving forward. If Harrison were to land in the desert, he'd instantly become the team's No. 1 pass-catcher among a receiving corps that currently includes Michael Wilson, Chris Moore and Greg Dortch. The 21-year-old's fantasy value will depend on where he lands, but most likely he'll be in play in weekly lineups in his rookie campaign.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
8 months agoAfter meeting with the Chicago Bears on Thursday, Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze's next top-30 visit will be with the Arizona Cardinals, who hold the fourth overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. However, the Cardinals remain a prime candidate to trade back in the draft. The 21-year-old Odunze is considered a top-three pass-catcher -- along with Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. and LSU's Malik Nabers -- in this year's draft class and is likely to come off the board in the top-10 picks later this month. He already met with the New York Jets, who hold the No. 10 overall pick and the Chicago Bears, who have the No. 1 and No. 9 picks in the first round. Odunze can do it all on the football field. He has elite speed and can also win contested catches deep down the field. Depending on where he lands, he could be a weekly fantasy starter as a rookie.Source: Bleacher Report - Jordan Schultz

8 months agoFree-agent defensive lineman Austin Johnson is visiting with the Arizona Cardinals on Friday after wrapping up a visit with the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old was a 2016 second-round pick by the Tennessee Titans and has also spent time with the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers. Through his first 116 NFL games, Johnson has accumulated 241 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, ten passes defended, and 15.5 run stuffs. He's far from a star at the position, but he will bring depth to wherever he ends up signing.Source: Adam Schefter
8 months agoVeteran free-agent center Evan Brown is signing a one-year, $2.9 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The former undrafted free agent out of the class of 2018 has 57 games (40 starts) of NFL experience and started 16 contests at center for the Seattle Seahawks last season. Brown gave up three sacks in 955 snaps in 2023. He figures to compete with Hjalte Froholdt for the starting center job in quarterback Kyler Murray's offense to begin the 2024 campaign.Source: Tom Pelissero
8 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals have been open for business at the No. 4 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and The Athletic's Jeff Howe speculates that they might be a match for a trade with the Minnesota Vikings, who are looking to trade up within the top-five picks for a new franchise quarterback after losing Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons. The Washington Commanders (No. 2) and New England Patriots (No. 3) probably won't want to move all the way back to No. 11, miss out on a QB and likely be out of the mix for a top-tier receiver and left tackle. Arizona traded the No. 3 pick to the Texans just last year, and they are committed to QB Kyler Murray, which means they could welcome another trade down the board to accumulate more first-rounders as they attempt to acquire difference-makers around Murray on offense.Source: The Athletic - Jeff Howe
8 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals have signed free-agent wide receiver Chris Moore to a one-year deal on Thursday. This move makes sense given the fact Arizona has let Marquise Brown walk and traded Rondale Moore. Although, there's not a ton of value here, but the veteran wideout is a low risk move for the Cardinals. His best season came with the Houston Texans during the 2022 season. He finished with 48 receptions, 548 yards, and two touchdowns during that season. It's unlikely that he does that again, but he might get a decent amount of reps if the Cardinals fail to add anyone else this offseason.Source: Mike Garafolo
8 months agoThe Atlanta Falcons are acquiring wide receiver Rondale Moore from the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder, according to a source. Moore will give new quarterback Kirk Cousins yet another weapon in the passing game out of the slot. Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts will be the top two aerial targets for Cousins in his first year in Atlanta, but Moore, 23, will provide plenty of speed out of the slot. The former second-round pick of the Cardinals in 2021 out of Purdue has scored just one touchdown in each of his three NFL seasons and had his best statistical season in his rookie year with a line of 54-435-1. From a fantasy perspective, it will be difficult for Moore to stand out in Atlanta after the Falcons also signed Darnell Mooney in free agency.Source: The 33rd Team - Ari Meirov
8 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals are acquiring former starting quarterback Desmond Ridder from the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, according to a source. Ridder squandered his chance as the full-time starter for the Falcons in 2023 by throwing for 2,836 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 15 games (13 starts), eventually being benched in favor of Taylor Heinicke. The former third-round pick out of Cincinnati has also lost nine fumbles in 19 games (17 starts) in his two NFL seasons. Atlanta's signing of Kirk Cousins made Ridder expendable, and he'll now make for a solid backup option in Arizona for starter Kyler Murray. The 24-year-old obviously won't be on the fantasy radar in single-year leagues in 2024 now that he's firmly entrenched in a backup role.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
8 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals are expected to sign Cincinnati Bengals free-agent offensive tackle Jonah Williams to a two-year deal worth $30 million, according to sources. The announcement comes just after the Cardinals released previous starting left tackle D.J. Humphries. Williams was considered one of the top offensive tackles on the open market this offseason, so this is a big win for Arizona's offense. The 26-year-old should now slot in as the team's starting right tackle to help protect quarterback Kyler Murray. Williams was taken with the 11th overall pick in 2019 out of Alabama, and he started all 59 games he played in for the Bengals the last four years, including 17 at right tackle in 2023.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
8 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals released left tackle D.J. Humphries (knee) on Wednesday after he spent nine seasons with the team. Humphries tore his ACL against the Philadelphia Eagles on New Year's Eve and certainly won't be ready for the start of the 2024 campaign this fall. The former first-round pick (24th overall) in 2015 out of Florida was set to carry a $22.9 million salary cap number this year, so the Cardinals decided to move on. He started all 98 games in which he appeared for the Cardinals after missing all of his rookie season. Injuries have been a big part of Humphries' career in the NFL, though, and his latest knee injury puts his future in doubt as a free agent. Cutting Humphries will save around $9 million in cap space in 2024 while the team takes on $13 million in dead-cap space.Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban
