4 months agoJon Rahm emerged victorious at the recent LIV United Kingdom, marking his first win at a LIV event this season. This follows his commendable performance at The Open Championship, where he secured a tie for seventh-place finish just two weeks prior. Notably, Rahm has consistently delivered top-10 finishes in his last four events. A noteworthy statistic is Rahm's remarkable ranking in the 99th percentile for greens in regulation percentage from approach shots of 150-200 yards in the fairway over the past 12 months. With his exceptional form, Rahm appears poised to be a highly valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.Source: Data Golf
4 months agoShubhankar Sharma's recent performance at The Open Championship was impressive, finishing T19. He is now shifting his focus to preparing for the Olympics at Le Golf National in Paris, France. Notably, Sharma has shown remarkable consistency by not missing the cut in eight consecutive tournaments, even achieving a top-five finish during this period. Analyzing his last two appearances on the PGA Tour, at the Genesis Scottish Open, he gained 2.52 strokes on approach, and at The Open Championship, he gained 1.15 strokes on approach. Sharma's recent form has been solid, and he has been recognized as one of the most accurate drivers on the DP World Tour this season making him worth consideration for DFS lineups this week.Source: Data Golf
4 months agoMito Pereira placed T34 in the recent LIV United Kingdom tournament. He has consistently finished in the top 40 in his last four LIV tournaments and has participated in two Asian Tour International Series tournaments this year, without appearing in any major championships. In the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Pereira finished tied for fourth with a combined 269 over four rounds. One important thing to note is that over the past 12 months, Pereira ranks in the 98th percentile in greens in regulation percentage from approach shots of 150-200 yards in the fairway. Pereira has been playing consistent golf throughout the entire season and is worth considering for DFS lineups this week.Source: Data Golf
4 months agoLudvig Aberg faced disappointment at The Open Championship two weeks ago, as he missed the cut, only the second time it has happened to him this year. However, Aberg is now gearing up for the Olympics at Le Golf National in Paris, France. Aberg has showcased exceptional skill in his approach play over the past year, placing him in the 93rd percentile for greens in regulation percentage from approach shots of 150-200 yards in the fairway. Despite the setback at The Open Championship, Aberg has had a commendable 2024 season and may be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.Source: Data Golf
4 months agoXander Schauffele is back in action this week after securing his second major victory of the year at The Open Championship. He will focus on preparing for the Olympics at Le Golf National in Paris, France. Schauffele is the 2020 gold medalist in Tokyo, shooting 266 combined over his four rounds. It's important to note that over the past 12 months, Schauffele has ranked in the 96th percentile in greens in regulation percentage from approach shots of 150-200 yards in the fairway. Given his recent form and Olympics track record, Schauffele could be a great addition to DFS lineups this week.Source: Data Golf
4 months agoNicolas Echavarria has a few good results in 2024. The Colombian golfer has a Top 10 at the Zurich Classic and has shown the ability to make some birdies. Without the specter of the cut line, Echavarria carries a little more potential than normal. He can implode mightily like at the Valero (82-77), but the CJ Cup featured four rounds in the 60's. This is purely an all or nothing DFS option for the Olympic course just outside of Paris. Echavarria can keep the ball in the fairway and get balls on the green. He is Top 40 in both categories. If the Colombian can drop a few putts early, he has a chance to place well. Source: PGATour.com
4 months agoMarty Dou has not enjoyed the best 2024 season. In eight PGA events, the Chinese golfer has missed five cuts. Worse, Dou has a difficult time keeping his drives in the fairway (58.99% accuracy). His scoring average of 70.00 is okay. Unfortunately, he averages 30 putts per round far too often in tournaments. The bright side is that Dou will be able to play all four days. However, if he cannot make putts at events like the ISCO Championship and John Deere Classic then Dou may succumb to the final four holes at L'Albatros. Source: PGATour.com
4 months agoDavid Puig has two wins on the Asian Tour. The Spanish golfer went to Arizona State University and won two Southwest Invitational events. As a professional, he joined the LIV Golf Tour in 2022. His team Torque won four events in 2023. This is his first Olympic appearance. However, Puig has played in several major events which including missing the cut at The Open Championship. Over 72 holes, the Spaniard could find L'Albatros a bit too challenging. Then again, European courses have not been as favorable as their Asian counterparts for Puig. Source: Arizona State University
4 months agoMatthieu Pavon has a knack for staying in major events. The French golfer gets to play a course near and dear to his heart. This is one of those weeks where Pavon is a very reasonable DFS option. Pavon finished fifth at the U.S. Open and 12th at The Masters. His overall strokes gained and game has been pretty average for most of 2024. However, despite a 70.64 scoring average (137th), Pavon can heat up on challenging courses. His ability to shoot in the 60's at venues like L'Albatros has to be noted. If his Top-40 approach and Top-50 potential in putting pan out, Pavon could factor into the proceedings at the Olympics. 4 months agoNick Taylor had a win and a few quality finishes early in 2024. The Canadian golfer triumphed at Phoenix in a playoff. Ever since the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Taylor has not finished in the Top 25. That involves a span of eight tournaments and four missed cuts. Again, the good news is with 60 golfers, Taylor will see Rounds 3 and 4 this weekend at Le Golf National. Lots of red flags with accuracy is a concern along with his driving average of 290.7 yards. While L'Albatros is only 7.331 yards. Three of the final five holes can play a good distance above their listed numbers. Yes, 17 and 18 can play over 500 yards and feel more like Par 5's. That could spell trouble for Taylor.Source: PGATour.com
4 months agoStephan Jaeger expected a little more from the summer season. The German golfer missed the cut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and The Open Championship. Jaeger aims to get things back together on the Olympic course at Guyancourt. Le Golf National features the famous L'Albatros which has a four-hole ending that ranks as one of the most challenging courses in Europe. The Par-72, 7,331 yard course can humble the better European golfers when winds shift. The good news is inclement weather is only possible late Thursday and the hottest day will be then too. Jaegar needs more accuracy (64.97% on greens and 59.05% on drives) is not exactly optimal for the Olympic course.Source: PGATour.com
4 months agoSome will argue that a struggling golfer like Yechun Yuan may have a long weekend at the Summer Olympics. The Chinese golfer has one Top 25 since a tied for fifth at The Valspar Championship in March. Yuan has never won a title in 54 PGA events. One of the major reasons for Yuan's issue is putting. He ranks 174th in putting while losing 0.774 strokes gained. Worse is that 62.5% Greens In Regulation which rolls in at 161st. A 71.00 scoring average (158th) does not bode well. The only good news is that Yuan cannot miss the cut in Paris. Le Golf National is a tough course, however. Yuan will need to make some putts early. Source: PGATour.com
4 months agoLos Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James led Team USA to an Olympic win over Nikola Jokic and Serbia on Sunday. The multi-time MVP scored 21 points, shooting an efficient 9-for-13 from the field, adding nine assists, eight rebounds, and one steal. James signed a new deal with the Lakers this offseason after averaging 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals for the team in 2023-24. He also shot a career-high 41.0% from deep. While James isn't as productive as he used to be, he's still a top fantasy asset. His improved shooting from behind the arc also raises his stock for category managers heading into the 2024-25 campaign. Team USA will look to keep it going versus South Sudan on Wednesday.Source: ESPN
4 months agoBilly Horschel (illness) withdrew from the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities about an hour before he was set to tee off on Thursday due to illness. This came at unfortunate timing for Horschel, who was heading into this week fresh off a tie for second place at The Open Championship last week. Horschel has had an excellent 2024 season and will look to continue that into the FedEx Cup playoffs.Source: ESPN
4 months agoHarry Hall chipped in at the ISCO Championship to win in a playoff a couple of weeks ago, and after taking the week off to be with his growing family, he will head to Minnesota for his second career appearance at the 3M Open. The 26-year-old failed to make the cut last year at TPC Twin Cities, as his putting and driver failed him. Lately, though, Hall has been locked in with his putter and is striking the ball very well with his irons. The Englishman will head back to the States looking to pick up where he left off at yet another scorer's track, which he's found success at in his recent PGA Tour showings. Hall costs just $7,600 on DraftKings with loads of upside to be had in GPP tournaments.Source: PGA Tour
