8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys after logging three consecutive limited practices, will work out pregame to determine whether he can play, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Watson has been sidelined since early December, but "there is some optimism that he can go" this week, Rapoport notes. If active, Watson and Jayden Reed would operate as the Packers' top wide receivers. In such a scenario, expect Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Bo Melton to also get involved.Source: Ian Rapoport
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave will go on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the NFL playoffs. The rookie returned to the field last week after missing the previous six games due to a kidney laceration and is expected to have a significant role this weekend after being left off of the final injury report. Tucker Kraft did an admirable job filling in for Musgrave. However, that role will decrease with the 23-year-old even closer to 100% this weekend. Dallas is not the matchup to capitalize on, though, as they ranked top-five in fantasy points allowed to tight ends this season. With so many mouths to feed in Green Bay, Musgrave will be a risky option in DFS tournaments this weekend.Source: RotoBaller
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks will go on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys in the first week of the NFL playoffs. The rookie ended the year on a high note, scoring two touchdowns and helping propel the Packers into the playoffs. He has been a mainstay in the offense, with Christian Watson (hamstring) missing the season's final five games. However, Watson could make his return after getting a week of limited practice participation, pushing Wicks' snap share down. Dallas has been top-five in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers this season, so the 22-year-old will be a risky boom-or-bust flex option in DFS tournaments this weekend with a boost in value if Watson is ruled out.Source: RotoBaller

8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Kenyan Drake has been released by the organization on Friday. Drake was signed to the practice squad over a month ago. However, he only appeared in one game and had one carry in that contest. It doesn't look like the Packers are going to need Drake heading into their upcoming playoff game. The team will move on from Drake and he'll look to catch on as a backup elsewhere this offseason.Source: packers.com

8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will go on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys in the first week of the NFL playoffs. The 29-year-old has been managing a knee and finger injury but was left off of the team's final injury report. AJ Dillon (neck/thumb) is also listed as doubtful, so Jones will have all the carries he can handle on Sunday. The veteran enters the weekend on a three-game streak of over 110 yards gained on the ground but faces a Dallas defense that allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. On top of that, Johnathan Hankins, the Cowboys' top run defender, was left off the final injury report for the first time in a while. Jones is a savvy vet who can produce against any defense but carries risk in DFS tournaments due to the matchup.Source: RotoBaller
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will go on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the NFL playoffs. The 25-year-old ended the regular season on a tear, passing for 1,075 yards and nine touchdowns over the final four games. Love enters the weekend with nearly all of his weapons healthy for the first time in a long time. The only outlier is Christian Watson (hamstring), who is listed as questionable. With that said, the first-year starter has not needed everyone healthy to produce this season, and he will look to stay hot against a stiff Dallas defense. The Cowboys allowed the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, but Love is one of the cheaper options available in DFS on Sunday. He will be a sneaky pick during the first week of the playoffs.Source: RotoBaller
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) is questionable to face the Dallas Cowboys on the road on Sunday in the wild-card playoff contest. It looked like Watson was close to playing in Week 18 against the Chicago Bears for the first time since straining his right hamstring in Week 13, but the Packers chose to play it safe and hold him out for a fifth straight game. The 24-year-old put in more limited practices this week and is trending toward a return, but it's hard to recommend him for DFS lineups as anything more than a boom/bust player because of his extended absence. Watson is an even more risky lineup option, considering the fact that rookies Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks and Romeo Doubs (chest) will all be active against Dallas.Source: USA TODAY - Ryan Wood
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that running back AJ Dillon (neck, thumb) is doubtful to play in Sunday's wild-card playoff contest against the Dallas Cowboys. Dillon missed practices on Wednesday and Thursday after missing the Week 18 win over the Chicago Bears due to a stinger he suffered in Week 17. He's also recovering from a fractured thumb, but the stinger is the more serious injury and the one that will likely cause him to miss a second straight game. With Dillon likely out this weekend, it will make Aaron Jones more attractive in DFS lineups at a reasonable price against a Dallas defense that has been soft against the run at times this year. Patrick Taylor will most likely operate as Jones' backup in Dallas on Sunday.Source: USA TODAY - Ryan Wood
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney) said the entire point of the Week 18 win over the Chicago Bears was for him to go through the process and have something to build on for the first week of the postseason. In his return from a kidney laceration that knocked him out for six games, Musgrave played only 15 percent of the offensive snaps and caught his only target for an 11-yard gain. He said he felt good and should be fully back this Sunday to take on the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round. The 23-year-old should be more involved on Sunday, but it still might not be enough for DFS gamers to chase him as a low-cost option at the position. The fact that the Packers might have all of their wideouts available for this one, Christian Watson (hamstring) included, is another factor going against Musgrave.Source: USA TODAY - Ryan Wood
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (finger, knee) remained limited in the team's practice on Thursday for the second day in a row this week. Jones hasn't been fully healthy all year, really, but he isn't in danger of missing Sunday's wild-card playoff game on the road in Dallas against the Cowboys. The 29-year-old could see an increased workload against Dallas as well with AJ Dillon (neck, thumb) trending toward missing a second straight game due to a stinger he suffered in Week 17. Jones has looked the best he has all year in the last four games, totaling 475 scrimmage yards on 87 total touches. At a DraftKings price of $6,300 for wild-card weekend, Jones is quite attractive against a Cowboys run defense that is their weakness.Source: Packers.com
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receivers Romeo Doubs (chest) and Christian Watson (hamstring) were both listed as limited participants in practice for the second straight day on Thursday. After getting injured in the Week 18 win over the Chicago Bears and requiring a trip to the hospital, Doubs said he's "feeling normal" heading into Sunday's wild-card playoff contest against the Dallas Cowboys. Although Doubs and Watson could both end up playing this weekend, they are both very shaky fantasy options in DFS in a shy-away matchup against a strong Dallas secondary that plays much better at home. Watson missed his fifth game in a row in Week 18. He's trending toward a return, but choosing a player for DFS lineups that may be knocking off rust isn't exactly enticing.Source: Packers.com
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (neck, thumb) remained sidelined for the team's practice on Thursday for the second straight day. Dillon did not play in the Week 18 win over the Chicago Bears after suffering a stinger in Week 17, and he's trending toward missing a second straight game on Sunday in the wild-card playoff contest versus the Dallas Cowboys. The 25-year-old has one more day to get onto the practice field on Friday, but even if he does and ultimately is active for wild-card weekend, he's going to play second fiddle to lead back Aaron Jones. If Dillon is inactive this weekend, Patrick Taylor would serve as Jones' backup. Jones has three straight 100-yard games and is looking more and more attractive for DFS lineups against a Cowboys run defense that was a top-10 matchup for the last five weeks for opposing RBs.Source: Packers.com
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (finger, knee) remains on the injury report for wild-card week with multiple injuries, but he was listed as limited for the team's walkthrough practice on Wednesday. Jones has dealt with various injuries all season and missed a total of six games during the regular season. However, this is about the healthiest and productive he's been all year heading into the postseason. The 29-year-old didn't find the end zone at all, but he's heading into Sunday's playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys with three straight 100-yard rushing performances. If teammate AJ Dillon (neck, thumb) misses a second straight game, Jones will be even more appealing in DFS at a DraftKings price of $6,300. On the negative side, the matchup isn't great for Jones and he could fall out of the game plan if Green Bay falls behind big early on.Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky
