8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (neck, thumb) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report. Dillon has not practiced since he suffered a neck stinger in Week 17. He's going to need to get back to practice on Wednesday or Thursday to have a chance to play in Saturday's Divisional Round contest on the road in San Francisco against the 49ers. And even if Dillon does play this weekend, he's going to take a back seat to Aaron Jones, who is playing his best ball into the playoffs. If the 25-year-old Dillon is forced to miss a third straight game, Emanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor will continue to compete for change-of-pace touches behind Jones in Green Bay's backfield. Dillon averaged a career-low 3.4 yards per carry with only two rushing touchdowns in 15 regular-season games in 2023.Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers rookie tight end Tucker Kraft only managed to catch two of his three targets for 15 yards in the 48-32 surprising wild-card win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Meanwhile, fellow rookie tight end Luke Musgrave was also targeted three times, but he produced much more with three receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay's beatdown of the NFC's No. 2 seed on the road. The 23-year-old made seven straight starts from Weeks 12-18 after Musgrave sustained a lacerated kidney, but Musgrave returned in the Week 18 regular season finale and should only continue to see more of the workload as the Packers head into the Divisional Round on the road in San Francisco to face the top-seeded 49ers. At best, Kraft will be a low-cost dart throw in DFS next weekend.Source: ESPN.com
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed failed to catch any of his three targets during the team's 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The rookie led the Packers in receiving yards during the regular season and was red-hot over the final half of it, but he was not a focal point of the offense on Sunday. Romeo Doubs caught all six of his targets for 151 yards and a score, absorbing most of the yards gained by the wide receiver corps. Quarterback Jordan Love only had to throw 21 passes in this game, and with the Packers' receiver corps finally back to full strength, there were not enough targets to spread around. Reed remains a flex option next week when the Packers go on the road to take on the San Francisco 49ers.Source: ESPN
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught his lone target for a nine-yard gain during the team's 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The second-year receiver had been out since Week 14 due to a hamstring injury that he suffered the week prior but made his return to action Sunday after being limited in practice all week. The Packers eased him back onto the field, and with only 21 passes thrown by Green Bay all game, there were few targets to be spread around the now-healthy receiving corps. Expect Watson to have his snap share increase next week when the Packers go on the road to take on the No. 1 seed San Francisco 49ers.Source: ESPN
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks caught both of his targets for 25 yards and a touchdown during the team's 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The rookie got involved early, catching the game's first touchdown pass on a 20-yard strike from quarterback Jordan Love, but was hardly seen after the play. The Packers wide receiver corps was at full strength for the first time in a long time Sunday, and since Love threw just 21 passes, there were not many targets to spread around the offense. Wicks' hot end to the regular season guarantees his role in the offense, and he will remain a solid flex option in DFS next week due to his big play ability.Source: ESPN
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught all three of his targets for 52 yards and a touchdown during the team's 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The rookie expected to see his role increase this week after being removed from his kidney laceration another week, and he did not disappoint when his number was called. His 38-yard catch and run for a touchdown late in the third quarter put the Packers up 41-16 and gave Jordan Love his second touchdown pass of the game. Tucker Kraft also had a role in this game, but Musgrave was the more featured receiver and will remain the starter. The 23-year-old will look to stay hot on the road next week against San Francisco.Source: ESPN
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs caught all six of his targets for 151 yards and a touchdown during the team's 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys. It has been a roller coaster ride of a season for the second-year receiver, as he could not get into a rhythm consistently during the regular season. However, Doubs consistently found himself open in the middle of the field against the Dallas defense Sunday night and gashed them for massive gains all game long. His three-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter with 10 minutes to go put the Packers up 48-16 and put the game completely out of reach for Dallas. When the Packers wide receiver corps is healthy, any of them could have a monster game. Sunday was Doubs night, and he will look to parlay that success into another big game next week against the 49ers.Source: ESPN
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones took 21 carries for 118 yards and three touchdowns and caught his lone target for a 13-yard gain during the team's 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The 29-year-old's reputation as a "Cowboy killer" grew even more Sunday, as he now has gained over 110 yards on the ground in four straight games. Jones actually started the game slow on the first drive, losing yardage on his first two carries. However, after this, the savvy vet went on to score the opening touchdown of the game and added two more before the third quarter even ended. Jones has given this offense a boost that it sorely needed since returning from his injury, and the team is likely to lean on him heavily again next week against San Francisco.Source: ESPN
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love completed 16 of 21 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns during the team's 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The 25-year-old posted nearly a perfect passer rating in his first postseason game, where his team was a heavy underdog. Love led the Packers to a score on six of the team's first seven drives of the game and completed difficult passes late to seal the win with the majority of the fourth quarter remaining. The Packers' offense is getting hot at the right time, and they will now travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. Love will be a hot commodity in DFS leagues next weekend.Source: ESPN
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (stinger) is questionable to return to Sunday's Super Wild Card matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. The 24-year-old exited due to a stinger, and he will finish with six tackles (five solo) if he doesn't return. The Packers also saw Jaire Alexander (ankle) exit. However, with Green Bay up big in the fourth quarter, McDuffie probably won't be back. The same can be said for Alexander, especially if the team hopes to get them both on the field for the Packers' next postseason game, assuming Green Bay keeps the lead.Source: Green Bay Packers
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys. The 26-year-old rolled his ankle during Wednesday's practice and didn't participate in Thursday or Friday's sessions. However, he was cleared to play in Super Wild Card Weekend, which was great news for the Packers. There's a good chance Alexander won't be back, especially with Green Bay holding a decisive lead heading into the fourth quarter. If so, he'll finish with seven tackles and a pick. But now there will be questions regarding his health ahead of the Packers' next postseason contest, assuming they finish off Dallas and advance.Source: Green Bay Packers
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder, ankle) is officially active for Sunday's playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. He had been listed as questionable and was a true game-time decision after missing practice on Friday. Nevertheless, the talented cornerback underwent a series of tests prior to kickoff and was deemed healthy enough to play. The 26-year-old registered 27 tackles and one forced fumble through parts of seven games during the regular season. He'll be tasked with slowing down a wide receiver group led by CeeDee Lamb on Sunday.Source: Green Bay Packers
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (thumb, neck) is officially inactive for Sunday's playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. He missed all three practices this week and was trending in the wrong direction after the team listed him as questionable. With Dillon sidelined, the Packers will deploy Patrick Taylor as the No. 2 option behind Aaron Jones out of the backfield. Jones should operate as an every-down back but could have some difficulty running against the Cowboys' strong defensive front.Source: Green Bay Packers
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) is officially active for Sunday's playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. He had been listed as questionable after logging three consecutive limited practices. The promising young pass-catcher will return for his first game since early December. He had 28 catches for 422 yards and five touchdowns over the course of nine games during the regular season. Against Dallas, he should see significant volume alongside rookie breakout Jayden Reed.Source: Green Bay Packers
8 months agoGreen Bay Packers star cornerback Jaire Alexander (ankle), who was listed as questionable for Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, is viewed as 50/50 to play. Alexander's 2023 season has been full of injuries, and he suffered an ankle injury in practice on Thursday that has him up in the air to play in Dallas on Sunday. Not having Alexander in their secondary would be really bad news as the Packers try to slow down the highest-scoring offense in the NFL and star wideout CeeDee Lamb. Even if Alexander is cleared to play, the Packers defense won't be the smartest DFS play this weekend. The 26-year-old former first-rounder has played in only seven games this season and has 27 tackles (23 solo), five passes defensed and one forced fumble. If the All-Pro defensive back is inactive, expect Keisean Nixon Corey Ballentine to see increased playing time.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
