Nick Gonzales Comes Off Injured List, in Starting Lineup on Tuesday
Nick Gonzales (ankle) from the 60-day injured list and optioned infielder/outfielder Nick Solak to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Additionally, right-hander Kyle Nicolas was recalled from Indianapolis. Gonzales is back at second base and is hitting sixth on Tuesday against the visiting Houston Astros and right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. The 26-year-old has been out since late March due to a fractured ankle, but he's back now and should see most of the playing time at the keystone in Pittsburgh, making him worth a waiver-wire pickup for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues looking for middle-infield depth. The former seventh overall pick in 2020 out of New Mexico State only played in one game before his injury. He had seven homers, 49 RBI and five steals with a .270 average in a career-high 94 games played in 2024.Source: Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Tuesday that they reinstated infielder Emmanuel Rodriguez Hits the 7-Day Minor League IL with Hip Injury
Emmanuel Rodriguez was placed on the 7-day minor league injured list on Monday with a right hip injury. The Twins' second-ranked prospect is heading full-speed into "injury prone" status, missing parts of the last few seasons with various ailments. Last year, the left-handed slugger played in only 47 games due to multiple hand-related injuries. The Dominican offers big-time power and draws a ton of walks (21.7 percent career BB%), but was 3-for-17 (.176) over his last eight games (8:7 BB:K) before the hip injury and has an atrocious 35.0 percent strikeout rate through 39 games at Triple-A this season. However, if this is a minimal stint on the IL and he can get on a roll when he returns, the 22-year-old could still be in line for a major league debut later this year.Source: Bobby Nightengale - Star Tribune
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Jorbit Vivas Sent to Triple-A
Jorbit Vivas to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) returning from the 10-day injured list. Vivas, the team's No. 19 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will head back to the farm after hitting just .156 (7-for-45) with a home runs, two doubles, four RBI, six runs scored, four walks and 11 strikeouts in his first 22 big-league games as a utility infielder. The 24-year-old saw action at second and third base due to injuries to Chisholm and Oswaldo Cabrera (ankle). For now, Pablo Reyes will stick around as a utility infielder for the Yankees, while Vivas gets more development on the farm.Source: New York Yankees
The New York Yankees announced on Tuesday that they optioned infield prospect Luke Weaver Officially Lands on 15-Day Injured List
Luke Weaver (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to June 1) with a left-hamstring strain and recalled right-hander Yerry De los Santos from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Weaver injured his hamstring warming up before Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he's expected to be out for four to six weeks, meaning we may not see him until after the All-Star break in mid-July. In the meantime, right-hander Devin Williams will return to seeing most of the team's save chances after losing the closing gig early in the year to Weaver. Williams has an ERA over 6.00 for the season but also has five saves and has looked sharper in recent outings. The 30-year-old reliever needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats.Source: New York Yankees
The New York Yankees officially announced on Tuesday that they placed right-handed reliever Ryne Nelson Taking Vacant Rotation Spot in Arizona
Ryne Nelson will return to the starting rotation with right-hander Corbin Burnes (elbow) going on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday. There's a chance Burnes could have to miss the rest of the 2025 season after injuring his right elbow in his last start on Sunday against the Washington Nationals. If that were to happen, Nelson would obviously have a big opportunity to stick around in Arizona's rotation for the long term, making him a priority waiver-wire addition for fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for starting-pitching help at this juncture. The 27-year-old could be limited innings-wise in his next start after throwing only four innings on May 31 out of the bullpen. Nelson has never had a strikeout rate above 23.2% in the big leagues but has a decent 3.43 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a save in 42 innings so far this year in a swing role.Source: Arizona Sports - John Gambadoro
Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro reports that Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Michael McGreevy Could Be Used as Spot Starter This Month

Corbin Burnes Officially Placed on Injured List
Corbin Burnes (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with right-elbow inflammation and recalled left-hander Tommy Henry from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move, according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro. With Burnes potentially missing significant time, potentially for the rest of the season, right-hander Ryne Nelson will jump into the starting rotation and will have an opportunity to stick around for a while if he pitches well enough. Burnes will have a second opinion on his right arm later this week, at which point fantasy managers should have a better idea if he'll miss the rest of 2025. Losing Burnes, the team's ace, for the rest of the year would be a tough blow for the Snakes. He's gone 3-2 with a 2.66 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 63 K's in 64 1/3 innings over 11 starts in his first year in the desert.Source: Arizona Sports - John Gambadoro
The Arizona Diamondbacks officially placed right-hander Jordan Lawlar Settles Back in with Three-Hit Game
Jordan Lawlar is settling back in at Triple-A Reno after being optioned on May 29. The former sixth-overall draft pick went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his first game back with the Aces, but went 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, and a run scored in the second game on Sunday. The 22-year-old didn't do much in his time with the big league club, but wasn't given a chance to play every day (or even every other day in some cases), so surely it was challenging to get in a rhythm. At some point, there will be another opportunity to join the D-backs in a full-time role later this season, and the right-handed hitter is still the fourth-ranked prospect in all of baseball; fantasy managers will just have to wait a bit longer to see it. Continue to stash Lawlar in leagues where you have an open bench or NA spot.Source: MiLB.com
Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Sebastian Walcott Performing Well at Double-A
Sebastian Walcott continues to show well at Double-A, going 6-for-16 (.375) with a double, two home runs, five RBI, six runs scored, three stolen bases, and a 3:2 BB:K over his last four games for the Frisco RoughRiders. The Rangers' top-ranked prospect's season-long slash line sits at .249/.341/.449 with eight home runs and 11 steals, and with the uptick in performance, he's pacing for a promotion to Triple-A in the coming months. The 19-year-old has the makings of a five-category fantasy producer and could be in the big leagues in the second half of 2026, so fantasy managers should have a keen interest in the 6-foot-4 slugger's progression.Source: MiLB.com
Texas Rangers infield prospect Zach Agnos Placed on Bereavement List
The Colorado Rockies announced on Tuesday that they placed rookie right-handed reliever Zach Agnos on the bereavement list and recalled right-hander Angel Chivilli from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Agnosread more...
Corbin Burnes Going for Second Opinion
Corbin Burnes (elbow) is going for a second opinion on his injured right elbow on Thursday or Friday after initial tests were inconclusive, according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro. Burnes left his last start on Sunday against the Washington Nationals in the fifth inning in a good amount of pain, leading many to believe he had just suffered a season-ending elbow injury. That could still be the case, but we'll know more by this weekend. Either way, the 30-year-old veteran will almost certainly land on the 15-day injured list and could miss extensive time if he avoids a season-ending injury. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues shouldn't outright drop the D-backs ace until we know more about the severity of his elbow injury. Arizona already has Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) on the IL, but he's expected to rejoin the rotation next week.Source: Arizona Sports - John Gambadoro
Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Alex Bregman "Feeling Better"

Devin Williams to do Most of the Closing Now
Devin Williams will do most of the closing while righty Luke Weaver (hamstring) is sidelined. Weaver, who took over closing duties from Williams early in the season, strained his hamstring on Sunday and could be out for anywhere from four to six weeks. Boone also noted that Fernando Cruz (shoulder) is returning from the 15-day injured list on Tuesday, so he'll help bolster the bullpen with Williams out as well. While Williams' 6.23 ERA and 1.43 WHIP on the season in 21 2/3 innings isn't pretty, he's pitched better of late and has allowed only two earned runs while striking out 15 and walking two in his last 10 innings pitched. His fantasy stock is now up with save chances coming regularly again, and it's possible that he'll stick in the ninth-inning role if he's pitching well when Weaver is ready to return.Source: Talkin' Yanks
