Padres Expecting Bad News On Fernando Tatis Jr.
Fernando Tatis Jr.'s left thumb injury. "We'll have more information here this weekend, but right now, the possibilities... potentially a fracture, potentially some ligament damage... He's probably going to miss some time," Preller said. Tatis injured the thumb attempting a steal Thursday night. He's the third overall prospect in all of baseball, per MLB.com. The star middle infielder has hit .286 with 16 home runs and 16 steals at Double-A San Antonio this year. He was certainly a candidate to come up in the second half, but this injury may curtail those plans. Tatis is still worth owning in most dynasty/keeper leagues for his upside, but we may not see him in the big leagues now until 2019.
