1 year agoThe Padres announced veteran right-hander Craig Stammen has retired. The 39-year-old suffered a right shoulder injury during spring training and hinted at retirement, so the update isn't surprising. Stammen was drafted by the Nationals in 2005. He appeared in 562 career games in Washington and San Diego, mostly out of the bullpen, amassing a 3.66 ERA and 108 holds.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
