Pablo Sandoval Avoids Serious Injury
5 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval (hand) needed four stitches after suffering a laceration on his right pinkie finger on Monday, but the team is confident that he'll be able to avoid the injured list. X-rays showed no structural damage to his hand. Sandoval, who is a switch-hitter, said he thinks the injury will affect him more swinging right-handed. He did not start on Tuesday and is unlikely to start on Wednesday with another lefty on the mound. Believe it or not, the Panda has actually been more productive and more useful in fantasy than Evan Longoria. The 32-year-old veteran is hitting .290/.323/.572 with nine homers, 22 runs and 26 RBI but is still most attractive in NL-only leagues.
