Pablo Lopez Throws Eight Innings On Tuesday
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez was excellent on Tuesday, earning a win and a quality start against the Colorado Rockies in the opening game of the Marlins homestand. Lopez threw eight innings, allowing just two runs on five hits without issuing a walk. He struck out eight while setting a new career high in innings pitched. He'd gone seven innings several times, but never worked through the eighth. It was a great performance and it came at the perfect time, as the Marlins had a bullpen game the day before and will likely do another one the day after. Lopez's eight innings improved his record to 2-3 and lowered his ERA to 2.76. He's a legitimate front-line starter and forms part of an excellent top-three starters in the Marlins rotation.
