Pablo Lopez Starts With Nine Strikeouts In A Row
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez set a major league record on Sunday by starting the game with nine consecutive strikeouts. He ended up earning the win, going six innings while allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with the nine strikeouts. He ran through the Braves lineup the first time through with the nine Ks, but then didn't strike anyone else out but was still solid enough to earn the win and the quality start. He improved to 5-5 with a 3.03 ERA and is set up for a solid second half.
