Pablo Lopez Posts Quality Start In No-Decision
2 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Pablo Lopez pitched well enough to get a win on Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs, but he ended up with a no-decision in a close, 2-1 loss. In 6 2/3 frames, Lopez allowed just one earned run on five hits (one solo homer) while walking none and striking out six. The 26-year-old Venezuelan is 9-10 on the season with a 3.88 ERA (3.77 FIP), a 1.19 WHIP, a career-high 162 strikeouts and 50 walks in 167 innings over 30 starts. Lopez hasn't been nearly as good in the second half of the season, but the good news is he's allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his four starts in the final month of the season.
