P.J. Washington's Situation "Amazingly Quiet"
1 year agoCharlotte Hornets power forward P.J. Washington is one of the top free agents on the market, but he reportedly isn't anywhere near to signing a contract. "Amazingly quiet on that front," NBA insider Marc Stein said about Washington's situation. "As August draws near you really have to wonder if he's going to take the qualifying offer." The Hornets have a $8.5 million qualifying offer on the table for Washington, which makes him a restricted free agent. Stein speculated that the 24-year-old might eventually accept it and test the market again next summer when Washington is an unrestricted free agent. The Kentucky product was one of the most improved players in the NBA last season, putting up 15.7 points while registering 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
