Owner Predicts Big Things For Marlon Mack
6 years agoIndianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay thinks running back Marlon Mack will have a big year in 2018. “I think Mack has a chance to be a special guy this year,” Irsay said. “Depends on how many times you want to feed him the ball,16-20 touches on the ground (a game) and I could see him approaching 1,500 yards (for the season). I really could. He is just better than you think he is every time you watch him.” Mack was behind Frank Gore last year and battled a shoulder injury all year, running the ball 93 times for 358 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. He should be the lead back heading into the regular season with Robert Turbin suspended for four games, but the Colts also have promising rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins that could eat into his carries throughout the year. Mack will have a short leash if he doesn't produce and is more of an RB3/flex target.
