Orioles Acquire Three Prospects For Zach Britton
6 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles acquired pitching prospects Dillon Tate, Josh Rogers and Cody Carroll from the New York Yankees on Tuesday in exchange for closer Zach Britton. Tate was the Yankees' No. 9 prospect, while Carroll was 15th. The Yankees are also picking up the remaining $5 million on Britton's contract. Tate obviously has the most upside of the trio of prospects and was 5-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 15 starts at Double-A this year. However, Carroll and Rogers could make an impact at the big league level sooner, with Carroll a lights-out reliever who had a 2.38 ERA in 41 2/3 innings at Triple-A.
