Olli Maatta Left Out On Saturday
4 years agoLos Angeles Kings defenseman Olli Maatta will be a healthy scratch on Saturday against the Blues with Kurtis MacDermid replacing him in the lineup. Maatta logged only 11:04 in Thursday's 4-2 win over Colorado and he has struggled to adapt to his new team. His spot on the top pairing will go to Mikey Anderson, who has one assist and a plus-three rating through four games. Anderson's fantasy value gets a nice boost, as he gets a chance to skate alongside former Norris Trophy winner Drew Doughty.

Olli Maatta Ruled Out For Saturday
1 year agoDetroit Red Wings defenseman Olli Maatta (upper body) won't play on Saturday against New Jersey. He was injured in Friday's battle with the Flyers, playing less than six minutes. The two-time Stanley Cup champion has made 27 appearances with the Red Wings this season, logging six points (one goal, five assists) with 29 blocks and a plus-six rating. Jake Walman, who sat out Friday's action, will likely re-enter the lineup on Saturday as Maatta's replacement.

Olli Maatta Working His Way Back From Pneumonia
2 years agoDetroit Red Wings defenseman Olli Maatta (illness) has been battling pneumonia, it was revealed on Friday. He has been held out of the last four games with an illness, but Maatta shared some further details following Friday's practice, saying that he was dealing with pneumonia. The Finnish blue-liner is feeling much better now and will be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against Ottawa. Maatta has found himself a nice role in Motown this season, averaging nearly 20 minutes of ice time and posting 10 points in 25 games with a plus-11 rating. His return would be a nice boost for a team that will be trying to end a four-game skid.

Olli Maatta Takes Over For Alexander Edler
3 years agoLos Angeles Kings defenseman Olli Maatta will enter the lineup on Tuesday against Tampa, replacing Alexander Edler (lower body) on the second defensive pairing. The Swedish blue-liner was injured early in Saturday's 2-1 win over Minnesota, and the team has placed him on Injured Reserve. Maatta has been a healthy scratch for six consecutive games. He's notched two points in 15 games with 10 shots, 12 hits and 25 blocks. The 27-year-old will have an opportunity to impress, but he's not a guy fantasy managers should look at.
