Odubel Herrera’s Blast Sets Tone
6 years agoBeginning a three-game home set against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, the Philadelphia Phillies got off to a quick start, led by their center fielder. Odubel Herrera drilled a three-run home run to right after the first two runners reached base, putting the Phillies ahead by three before recording a single out. It was one of two hits on the night for the 26-year-old, now .293, which leads the club. While the Phillies held their four-run lead for most of the game, the bullpen faltered in the ninth, resulting in an extra-innings victory for the home team.
