Nolan Jones Optioned
4 years agoCleveland Indians third base prospect Nolan Jones was among several players optioned on Friday. Manager Terry Francona said the 22-year-old will continue to work at third base and in the outfield in spring training. MLB Pipeline has Jones ranked as Cleveland's top prospect, and he comes in at No. 36 overall in baseball heading into the 2021 season. Jones has the athleticism and strong arm to remain at third base, but the Indians have been trying him in the outfield because they currently have Jose Ramirez at the hot corner and are thin in the outfield. The left-handed hitter has patience at the plate and above-average power that plays to all fields. If he can solve left-handed pitchers at the next level, the Indians will have a special player on their hands.
