Nolan Gorman Starting Again Monday
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals second baseman Nolan Gorman is starting for the fourth consecutive game Monday to take on the Atlanta Braves, batting sixth in the designated hitter spot. Playing time wasn't a guarantee for the former top prospect, but so far, he's earned it, slashing .444/.615/.1.111 with a pair of homers and a 30.8% walk rate. Gorman's also driven in six runs, tied for fifth in all of baseball. The Cardinals haven't faced a left-hander yet, so it's unclear what manager Oliver Marmol's plans are for the 22-year-old against southpaws. Although, Gorman's likely cemented himself as a starter anytime they face a righty and will look to improve on his .226 average, 14 homers, 44 runs, 35 RBI, and one stolen base across 89 games from 2022.
