Noah Syndergaard Officially Activated, Carlos Gomez Designated For Assignment

The New York Mets have activated pitcher Noah Syndergaard off the 10-day IL Sunday to start the series finale against the Braves. Outfielder Carlos Gomez has been designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Syndergaard was put on the IL on June 16 with a hamstring strain and made one rehab start striking out nine over five innings, but did allow three runs to score. He's struggled to find consistency with the Mets this season with a 5-4 record while holding a 4.55 ERA and 1.21 WHIP through 15 starts, but we're holding out hope he returns to dominant form at some point this season. He can be avoided in DFS lineups for tonight's game in a below-average matchup versus a hot Braves team.
