No Timetable For Philip Rivers Extension
6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said there is no timetable for the team to reach a long-term contract extension with quarterback Philip Rivers. The 37-year-old will earn a base salary of $11 million in 2019 under his current contract. He led the team to a 12-4 record last year and finished with 4,308 yards passing and 32 touchdowns. The veteran signal-caller has plenty of weapons around him and should continue to be a strong midrange QB1 for those that want to wait a bit after the elite names come off the board. "I think everybody knows what our intentions are and how we feel about Phillip," Telesco said. "He's our leader, he's our quarterback."
