6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said there is no timetable for the team to reach a long-term contract extension with quarterback Philip Rivers. The 37-year-old will earn a base salary of $11 million in 2019 under his current contract. He led the team to a 12-4 record last year and finished with 4,308 yards passing and 32 touchdowns. The veteran signal-caller has plenty of weapons around him and should continue to be a strong midrange QB1 for those that want to wait a bit after the elite names come off the board.
