Niko Goodrum Records Two Hits And A Walk In Spring Debut
4 years agoDetroit Tigers infielder Niko Goodrum had a solid spring training debut on Monday against the New York Yankees. Goodrum started at shortstop in the game and hit fifth in the order. He went 2-for-2 with two singles, one RBI and a walk. Goodrum, who just turned 29 in February, had a rough year in 2020, slashing .184/.263/.335 with five home runs, 20 RBI, 15 runs and seven stolen bases in 43 games. He should play a super utility role for the Tigers this year and figures to be in the starting lineup for most games. He's a solid bounce-back candidate who has a chance to flirt with a 20/20 season.
