Nico Hoerner Has Hairline Fracture In Wrist
5 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Nico Hoerner (wrist) will miss at least a month with a hairline fracture in his left wrist. He suffered the injury when he was hit with a pitch on April 23 while playing for Double-A Tennessee. President Theo Epstein said Hoerner, the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be in a splint for three weeks before being re-evaluated. The 24th overall pick of last year's draft, Hoerner was hitting .300/.391/.500 with seven walks and eight strikeouts in 18 games this year. His development takes a little hit, but he's still worth stashing in dynasty/keeper leagues. It seems unlikely that he'll make his big league debut in 2019 now.
