Nicky Lopez Fills In Admirably
6 years agoKansas City Royals rookie Nicky Lopez just got a big job, and so far, he's off to a great start. Lopez has mostly been working as a second baseman this season, but now that star shortstop Adalberto Mondesi is headed to the Injured List with a dislocated shoulder, Lopez will be tasked with picking up his slack. With Mondesi putting up a superstar season, Lopez will have big shoes to fill. He got off to a great start on Wednesday night when he went 2-for-4 with two RBI in KC's win over the White Sox. Lopez isn't exactly a fantasy stud yet, with his one home run and one stolen base in 226 plate appearances, but he's shown some growth and could still turn into a batting average/speed guy. This will be a great opportunity to see what kind of impact he can make.
