5 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels optioned starting pitcher Nick Tropeano to the minors on Wednesday and recalled reliever Jake Jewell in a corresponding move. Tropeano allowed five hits (two home runs) and three earned runs while walking two and striking out four in five innings against the A's in his first start of the season on Tuesday. In five starts for Triple-A Salt Lake before coming up he had an ugly 7.66 ERA, so the Angels want to see him get some more work on the farm before calling on him again. He'll be a shaky streamer in deeper leagues whenever he gets another shot in the big leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
