Nick Foligno Gets Two-Year Extension From Blackhawks
10 months agoThe Chicago Blackhawks and forward Nick Foligno have agreed to a two-year contract extension that carries an average annual value of $4.5 million. The 36-year-old was brought to Chicago on a one-year $4 million deal this past summer and has tallied eight goals and 17 assists on 73 shots across his first 39 games in the Windy City. More importantly, he has served as a leader and role model, most notably for No. 1 overall pick Connor Bedard whom Foligno has flanked for much of the season. A 17-year NHL veteran, Foligno has appeared in 1,120 career regular-season games, recording 223 goals, 542 points, and 914 penalty minutes in that time. He remains the likeliest of candidates to take over the open Captain vacancy in Chicago.
