Nick Foles Has The Playbook Down
5 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy thinks that quarterback Nick Foles has already caught up to Mitchell Trubisky when it comes to learning the offense. Foles has gotten up to speed through the digital playbook and meetings on Zoom despite being traded from the Jaguars two months ago and not having any on-field work due to COVID-19. "It’s like riding a bike," Nagy said Friday. "He’s been through some different offenses, even from the last time we were together in Kansas City. But once you present somebody like Nick the playbook and they start looking at it, all of a sudden it just clicks." Trubisky may not have an advantage, but Nagy also said there is no QB competition over Zoom, so the true competition won't start until training camp. Still, Foles has plenty of familiarity with Chicago's current coaches and is expected to win the job heading into Week 1.
