6 months agoCleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) is currently listed as questionable ahead of the Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite the tag, head coach Kevin Stefanski expects Chubb to be active this weekend. This would be the first game action for Chubb since he suffered that horrible season-ending knee injury last season. It wouldn't be shocking to see the Browns limit Chubb's usage during his first game back. It's worth noting that fellow running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) has already been ruled out. That being said, the Browns might have no choice but to lean on Chubb in the rushing attack. For now, fantasy managers should put him on the flex radar for Week 7.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 months agoCleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (foot), who suffered a season-ending broken foot in the Week 15 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, is headed for free agency in March, and The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that it's hard to say what Chubb's future in Cleveland might be. Jerome Ford will be the team's clear lead runner over the final three games of the season, with Pierre Strong Jr. and D'Onta Foreman also being evaluated in bigger roles. Strong is a candidate to return in 2025, but Foreman is not. Chubb is a popular player in the locker room and among fans, but the Browns must determine how much they think he has left after ending each of the last two seasons on Injured Reserve due to injuries. The 28-year-old four-time Pro Bowler may never be the same after suffering a gruesome knee injury early in 2023. In just eight games in 2024, Chubb didn't look the same and averaged a career-low 3.3 yards per tote.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoThe Cleveland Browns announced on Wednesday that they have officially placed running back Nick Chubb (foot) on season-ending Injured Reserve. Tight end Brenden Bates was signed to the active 53-man roster in a corresponding move. Chubb suffered a broken left foot in the Week 15 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and will close out his season for the second straight year on IR due to injury. The good news is the 28-year-old will not require surgery, but it's the second straight offseason he will be rehabbing an injury after tearing multiple ligaments in his knee during a gruesome injury early in 2023. The four-time Pro Bowler will be an unrestricted free agent next March, so he could have already played his last down in Cleveland. Coming off his major knee surgery, Chubb looked sluggish this year, averaging a career-low 3.3 yards per carry in eight games. It's fair to wonder how much he has left after these injuries.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoCleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said he thinks that running back Nick Chubb (foot) won't need surgery on the broken left foot that he suffered in the Week 15 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Chubb will still miss the rest of the regular season with only three weeks left, but the 28-year-old should be fully recovered in time for the start of the 2025 campaign. Still, it's been an injury-plagued last two years for Chubb, as he's played in only 10 combined games. He got a late start in 2024 while recovering from his gruesome knee injury and ended up playing in eight contests. Chubb looked sluggish, averaging a career-worst 3.3 yards per carry on 102 rushing attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to coming off another injury, Chubb will be a free agent and may not return to Cleveland, further clouding his fantasy value. Jerome Ford takes over the Browns the rest of the way at RB.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoCleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has been diagnosed with a broken left foot and is done for the season, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Chubb suffered the injury during the second half of Sunday's Week 15 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was seen wearing a boot on his left foot and walking with crutches after the game ended. The veteran running back rushed nine times for 41 yards on the ground this week. He did not catch a pass, but he did have a brutal drop that turned into a Chiefs interception. Chubb finishes the 2024 campaign with 332 rushing yards, 31 receiving yards, and four total touchdowns. It was an underwhelming year for the 28-year-old, who returned from his serious knee injury in the middle of the season and never really looked like his old self. He had the most inefficient season of his career, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry. Jerome Ford will step up as Cleveland's No. 1 running back for the rest of the season.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
