6 months agoUtah Hockey Club center Nick Bjugstad (upper body) isn't available for the start of training camp and is considered week-to-week. The versatile forward could also miss the start of the regular season due to an upper-body injury. Bjugstad is coming off one of the best seasons of his career. He notched 22 goals and 45 points in 76 games with 118 hits in 2023-24. The 32-year-old should be a two-way force again as a middle-six forward in 2024-25, but Bjugstad has to get healthy first.

Nick Bjugstad Expected To Miss Start Of Season
6 months agoUtah Hockey Club center Nick Bjugstad (upper body) is not expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, per Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports. The 32-year-old is nursing an upper-body injury and is listed week-to-week. Bjugstad was one of the top scorers on the team last term when the franchise was known as the Arizona Coyotes, notching 45 points (22 goals, 23 assists) in 76 games. He's also a big physical presence on the ice, meaning Utah will have quite a gap to fill among its forwards group.

Nick Bjugstad's Season In Jeopardy
12 months agoArizona Coyotes forward Nick Bjugstad (undisclosed) may not return again this season, as he has returned to Arizona from the team's current road trip. He is expected to be sidelined longer than day to day, and head coach Andre Tourigny said, "It's a little bit longer than that." Rushing the veteran back to action makes little sense at this point since the Coyotes will miss the postseason for the 10th time over the last 11 seasons, only entering via the qualifying round in the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season in that time. For the season, Bjugstad has tallied a solid 22 goals and 45 points while earning a career-high 17:27 of ice time per game across 76 contests.
