Nick Anderson Throws Another Bullpen Session

Tampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Nick Anderson (elbow) threw a bullpen session on July 10 and felt good afterward. There isn't a timetable for Anderson's return or for the start of his rehab assignment, but manager Kevin Cash said that pitching coach Kyle Snyder has encouraged Anderson to "start stepping on it a little bit" in his bullpens. All signs are pointing to a return in August, which would be a huge upgrade to an already dominant Rays bullpen. The 31-year-old has been out since March with a partially torn UCL, but he's worth stashing in the majority of formats because of his potential for saves on a good Rays club. Anderson allowed just one earned run with 26 strikeouts and three walks in 16 1/3 innings while recording six saves for the team last year.
