3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays are leaving off pitchers Ryan Yarbrough and Nick Anderson (back) and outfielder Brett Phillips were left off the roster in the American League Divisional Series against the Boston Red Sox. Anderson continues to work his way from a lower-back strain and is considered day-to-day. Yarbrough struggled mightily in September, posting a 1-3 record along with a 9.00 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and a 13:4 K:BB across 21 innings over five appearances. The Rays will use Jordan Luplow as outfield depth over the veteran Phillips. The 28-year-old slashed .247/.345/.548 with an .893 OPS against right-handers in 2021.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
