Nestor Cortes Trying To Recapture His Dominance Saturday
2 years agoNew York Yankees lefty Nestor Cortes is getting the ball for Saturday's matchup with Shane McClanahan and the Tampa Bay Rays. The former 36th-rounder hasn't been the pitcher fantasy managers have been accustomed to, pitching to a 4.74 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 24.2% strikeout rate with a 3-2 record. It's way too early to give up on Cortes, who ran a 2.61 ERA from 2021-2022, but the Rays will be a tough task, as they own a .857 team OPS, the best in the league. The native of Cuba is still a must-start in deeper leagues, but fantasy owners in standard 12-team formats can wait until he rediscovers his form.
