Nathan Eovaldi Tosses Scoreless Inning In Rehab
5 years agoThe Boston Red Sox are getting closer to activating their future closer. Nathan Eovaldi pitched a scoreless inning with Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday as he continues his comeback. The 29-year-old has been out since late April with a loose body in his right elbow. Recently, the Red Sox announced that he would be returning in a relief role, specifically to be the team closer. Eovaldi could reportedly return to the major league squad as early as this upcoming weekend. The Red Sox have struggled to replace Craig Kimbrel in the closer role, currently 11 games behind the AL East-leading New York Yankees in the loss column.
