Mookie Betts Could Serve As Designated Hitter This Weekend
5 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts (foot) has been out since last Thursday, September 12, while nursing a sore left foot. According to manager Alex Cora, Betts had a good workout in the weight room on Wednesday. Cora believes that Betts could be utilized as a designated hitter in this weekend's series against the Rays. Betts looks likely to return before the end of the season, but the clock is ticking and the Red Sox are out of the wild card race so it's hard to imagine them bringing Betts back unless he's 100%. Keep an eye on the situation and stay tuned for updates in the next day or so.
