Mookie Betts Could Play Second Base In World Series
6 years agoThe Boston Red Sox are considering playing outfielder Mookie Betts at second base when the World Series shifts to the National League park. It's not a given, though, and manager Alex Cora said there are a lot of factors to consider. One way or another, J.D. Martinez, the regular designated hitter, will play in every game of the series. That means that if Betts doesn't shift to the keystone that Jackie Bradley Jr. will start on the bench in an NL park. Bradley was more of a defensive player during the regular season, but he won the ALCS MVP with two home runs and nine RBI despite hitting just .200 (3-for-15).
