Mitch Keller Promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Mitch Keller got called up to the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians on Wednesday. He is the Bucs No. 1 prospect and is the No. 12 overall prospect, according to Baseball America. While at Double-A, Keller went 9-2 with a 2.72 ERA, 76 strikeouts and 32 walks. He went 4-0 with a 0.69 ERA and a .131 batting average against in the month of June. The right-hander from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, won the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week award for May 14-20. Keller sports a 54.6 percent ground-ball rate with his three-pitch mix of a fastball, curveball and changeup. He should be stashed in dynasty leagues and could become relevant in mixed leagues later this year if he's called up to the big leagues.
