4 months agoBoston Red Sox middle infield prospect Mikey Romero put together a big performance for High-A Greenville on Wednesday by going 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, two homers and five RBI. It was his third multi-homer game of the season to go along with his third four-hit game of the season. Romero, 20, was the clubs first-round pick in 2022, but back problems have caused him to have some bumps in the road early on in his career. When healthy, Romero, the Red Sox No.10 prospect per MLB Pipeline, makes good contact in the gaps with a nice left-handed swing. For Greenville this season, Romero is now hitting .273 with 18 doubles, four triples, nine homers and 30 RBI in 47 games. Moving forward, Romero has some big potential, but he will need to stay on the field for that all to come to fruition.
