Mike Zunino Blasts 18th Homer On Wednesday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Mike Zunino went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer during Wednesday's 15-6 loss to the Nationals. He took Jon Lester deep in the third inning for his 18th long ball of the season. The 30-year-old has now homered in back-to-back games, including four times over his last five contests. Zunino is second among all backstops in home runs behind only Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (19). Zunino is slashing .210/.296/.563 across 189 plate appearances in 2021. The Rays catcher continues to be an excellent source of power for fantasy managers, but his .210 batting average is left to be desired in standard rotisserie formats.
