Mike Trout Scratched From Friday's Lineup
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (elbow) was scratched from the lineup Friday. Trout was originally slated to start in center field and bat third- though the team will instead opt to give him the day off. The superstar outfielder was removed from Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch on his elbow and is still dealing with some soreness, per general manager Perry Minasian, who noted that the team is taking a cautious approach. The fact that manager Joe Maddon initially slotted him into the lineup is a good sign for his chances of returning to action on Saturday. Scott Schebler will get the start in center and bat eighth in Trout's place.
