Mike Trout Scratched From Friday's Lineup
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (elbow) was scratched from the lineup Friday. Trout was originally slated to start in center field and bat third- though the team will instead opt to give him the day off. The superstar outfielder was removed from Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch on his elbow and is still dealing with some soreness, per general manager Perry Minasian, who noted that the team is taking a cautious approach. The fact that manager Joe Maddon initially slotted him into the lineup is a good sign for his chances of returning to action on Saturday. Scott Schebler will get the start in center and bat eighth in Trout's place.
