Mike Smith Returns To Winning Ways Against Colorado
5 years agoEdmonton Oilers goaltender Mike Smith ended a brief two-game losing streak on Thursday, pushing away 31 of 33 shots in a 6-2 win over Colorado. Smith conceded the first goal in the second minute of the game, but he was very solid for the rest of the way to improve his record for the season to 6-5-1. Smith has a 2.53 goals-against average through 12 starts and a .915 save percentage. He has two more starts compared to Mikko Koskinen, who's produced three shutouts and a 7-1-1 record. The Oilers head to California next week to start a five-game road trip, which should keep both goalies busy.
