Mike Moustakas Reportedly A Target For Yankees
6 years agoKansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas (back) might have missed his last two games while nursing an injury, but that doesn't mean teams aren't keeping an eye on him. Specifically, the New York Yankees. According to a report from MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi, the Yankees have expressed interest in trading for Moose. With rookie Miguel Andujar well established at the hot corner in Yankee Stadium, the Bombers are instead looking at Moustakas at first base. After an injury to Gleyber Torres (hip) and the offensive struggles of Greg Bird, the Yankees strong infield now has some holes in it. While a starting pitcher remains at the forefront of the team's wish list, fantasy players can't rule out the Yankees trying to upgrade at first base. Getting Moose in the Yankees potent lineup would be an embarrassment of riches. That said, he only has two career starts at first base. Owners should keep an eye on Moustakas, because the failing Royals will probably try and move him before the deadline, and see what role he will play wherever he ends up.
