Mike Leake Hopes To Smooth Out Bumpy July
Mike Leake has allowed 27 hits in his last 14 innings heading into the second half of the season beginning on Friday. Leake went 5-2 in the months of May and June but has been hit around hard in his previous two starts to finish up the first half. Leake for the season is 8-6 with a 4.22 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. But Leake has had difficulty working out of jams this season, posting a 12.39 ERA with runners in scoring position and a 5.35 ERA pitching with two outs in an inning. Leake is a middle of the rotation pitcher who will take the ball and eat up some innings. But his fantasy value, however, is best utilized in matchup-friendly situations against inferior teams moving forward.
